Hi folks,

I'm just starting to evaluate these types of tools, and I was
wondering if Bugzilla's CVS integration is similar to what is
described on this FogBugz page:

http://www.fogcreek.com/FogBUGZ/help/HowSourceControlIntegrati.html

This seems to me like a screenshot-enhanced description of what the
Bugzilla guide has to say on the subject:

"CVS integration is best accomplished, at this point, using the
Bugzilla Email Gateway. Follow the instructions in this Guide for
enabling Bugzilla e-mail integration. Ensure that your check-in script
sends an email to your Bugzilla e-mail gateway with the subject of
"[Bug XXXX]", and you can have CVS check-in comments append to your
Bugzilla bug. If you have your check-in script include an @resolution
field, you can even change the Bugzilla bug state."

Am I correct in reading these as similar processes? Are there major
differences?

Thanks!

Jim

I'd say they are broadly similar. The difference is that FogBugz'
implementation is built-in and supported, whereas anything you did with
Bugzilla you'd probably have to hack up yourself. There is also
something called CVSZilla which you can Google for, or look back in this
newsgroup.
