Windows update F*cks my system yet again

upgrades to my system (journal viewer and direct X) so followed the
instructions and did as I was told by Microsoft (GOD WHY DO I NOT
LEARN!). Now my PC (that I use for work and I have urgent deadlines
aproaching) is F*CKED!!!!!!!!!
I get the error message: STOP: c00026c (unable to load device driver)
\SystemRoot\Systen32\Drivers\fetnd5b.sys device driver could not be
loaded Error status was )xc))))12f I have tried booting in safe mode
to remove various stuff and tried last know good configuration etc to
no avail. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP AS I AM IN DEEP KAKAA IF I DONT FIX IT

Boot into safe mode and roll back your network driver installation. And
then call up your hardware vendor's support line and repeat what you posted
to them.

procured from the manufacturer. I advise you to engage your hardware vendor
of your Ethernet Adapter for assistance.

user) I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. However as
the LAN is on the motherboard I contacted the manufacturer who very
kindly (and free of charge - thanks ABIT) sent me a CD containing the
original drivers from nearly 2 years ago. I reinstalled them and now
my system works after nearly a week of intense frustration and looming
deadlines.
Microsoft has caused me no end of stress with their 'recommended
update' and the help they gave, although well intended, was of little
use. In future I will not be following ANY of Microsoft's
recommendations, as I cannot afford to jeopardise my income generating
system. Rest assured that I will without any doubt be replacing my
current system with an Apple Mac within the next few months (as soon
as I can afford it) and I would advise anyone who reads this thread
and in a similar predicament to do the same.
It is a shame that Microsoft has such poor reputation within my
industry (TV and graphics) as in principle their system is very good
but now I truly understand why the majority of creative professionals
use Apple based systems, all the people I have spoken to with Macs
have had no such issues with their computers. The only reason I went
down the Windows PC route was that the hardware and software were
substantially cheaper but as my father always told me "you get what
you pay for" and now I realise what he was trying to say - "buy cheap
and pay a higher price in the long term"
I would like to say thanks Microsoft for all the years I have been
with you but I would choke on the words, all those late nights over
the years trying to sort out a myriad of technical issues from IRQ
conflicts to driver issues (not to mention more bugs than a swamp
campsite!). I am grateful for 1 thing and 1 thing only - for letting
me see the light (of Apple!)
