Surely some mistake - or is it a case of "many a true word spoken in
jest"?

I hear 18 drivers were caught driving well in excess of 60mph today in Northants.... speeds of up to 200mph were recorded by a SCAMera van on a quiet country road near Towcester..... although a Mr Wilson and Mr Barrichello were said to be 'very fortunate' to miss the speed trap.....

Funny article, though.

Having seen Barrichello's oops today during practice, I feel sure he
would have beenm thrilled to have been clocked at over 200MPH :-)

So, if, as the national press were reporting yesterday, rapes have risen by 29%
or so what do Northants Police call serious crime when were faced with an
article entitled " Northants police celebrate eradication of all serious
crime"? Or is everybody back to shagging sheep again up that way?

Hehehe, superb. Quote of the week has to be:
"Catching criminals outside of cars is extremely difficult and time
consuming. We did get one image of someone leaving the scene of a crime
clutching a colour television but he wasn't wearing a numberplate so we have
been unable to identify him."

:-)

Brilliant writing, how sad and true the underlying tones of the article are.

Mr Flash Gorman should have his own TV show immediately, or team up with
Richard Littlejohn.

Why catch real criminals, when it's easier to catch motorists for a healthy
source of revenue.

Cheers

Because "crime doesn't pay" and the police service has huge land lease
costs to find?

Erm, isn't that what I said?

In article <20030718160728...@mb-m27.aol.com>,
acros...@aol.compare says...

Have you _read_ the article?

It's satire :-)

Pete.
