Force logoff, when logon hours expire - is enabled in our
default domain policy, yet any id that has time
resrictions set in thier properties is never logged off.

Anyone ever try to apply this setting?, any success, any
ideas why it would not work?

The name of this policy setting is a little misleading. In XP this setting
was renames to Network Security: Force logoff when logon hours expire. This
policy doesn't affect interactive logon. It only affects network logons and
specifically logons to SMB shares. So you shouldn't expect the user is
kicked off the machine when his logon hours terminated.

As for the SMB connections, I did try this policy and it worked fine.

Could you please define SMB shares, just may have not
heard it termed this way?

Thanks

Server Message Block (SMB) is a protocol used to communicate between file
server and client machine in Windows. The SMB shares appear in Computer
Management snap-in (compmgmt.msc) under the name 'shared folders'.
