I have a system running XP Pro and have a problem with my Visual Studio.NET
installation. The first time I installed Enterprise Architect, VC++ would
not function properly. When I tried to create a project, the wizard would
start and I could set the configuration parameters I wanted, but when I
clicked finish, the wizard went away and no project was created and no error
was posted. I uninstalled the VC++ component and reinstalled. I was then
able to create a VC++ project and have it compile. The problem I have now is
when placing a control on a dialog box, I can't get at any of the
properties. In VC 6, right clicking the control displayed the property
pages. It looks like VC 7 uses the method VB used where the properties are
supposed to display in a property window on the IDE. In my case, the
dropdown that soul have the control id says "Selected Object" and the list
is comprised of nothing but "Selected Object" items. Selecting one of them
hilights one of the controls on the dialog. Unfortunately, no properties
display for any object I select.

Am I missing something here?

Another problem I have is with the MSDN Jan 03 library. I installed and
integrated it with VS.NET. I can search either with the VS IDE, or use the
MSDN search IDE. The result list comes back with just the letter 'a' in each
line and there is no information in any of the other fields on the result
window. Clicking one of the lines brings up the associated help topic, but I
have no way to identify what the topic is before clicking a line.

I had to install the Windows Components upgrade CD before VS.NET would
install.

Has anyone had a problem like these?
