Remember Ashley Johnson, who played the Chrissy for the last couple of
years of "Growing Pains"? She seems to have resurged as a TV guest
actress with a vengeance. I've seen her on about a half dozen shows in
the past couple of months, these are the ones I can remember offhand:

* The pregnant girl who was the victim of Syd's malpractice on
"Providence".

* Liz's roommate when she went to a private school on "Roswell".

* A client on tonight's "Ally McBeal".

* I think she was on a recent "Strong Medicine".

Not that she's a horrible actress, but the sudden glut of appearances
seems a bit excessive. Why have TV casting directors suddenly fallen in
love with her?

Not suddenly.......after GP, Miss Johnson was a regular in "Phenom", "Maybe
This Time", "AllAmerican Girl", and "Mahoney".

All of which had a limited shelf life, making one wonder if she wasn't a
jinx. I think All American Girl lasted the longest. And her horrible
powers :-) may be at work again, as Roswell is in danger of being cancelled
even as we speak. And hasn't there been talk that Calista Flockhart may be
ready to move on, ending Ally McBeal?

I still say the female counterpart to Ted McGinley would have to be
Paula Marshall. Like Ted, a fine thespian, nothing inherently wrong
with her, but everything she's in seems to get canned within the
season.

No, I thought that was Mary Page Keller! "Duet", "Open House", "Baby
Talk","Camp Wilder", and "Joe's Life".

And Emeril and Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane. Of course, Duet actually ran a
couple of years.

Oh, she was on those? I really don't watch prime time like I used to...hehe
Duet only ran a couple of years because it was on FOX. The other shows
didn't have that luxury--except OH, which was a warmed up leftover of Duet.
