The Bugzilla Team is pleased to announce the release of Bugzilla 2.16.1.

2.16.1 is the latest stable Bugzilla release, and fixes a number of
security bugs and other defects in Bugzilla 2.16, originally released on
July 28th. For more detailed information on what was fixed, review the
latest Bugzilla status report available at
http://www.bugzilla.org/status_reports/2002-09-22.html .

The Bugzilla team strongly recommends all 2.16 users upgrade to 2.16.1 due
to the security bugs fixed in this release. Also, a few smaller bugs which
may be beneficial to your installation were fixed.

For details on upgrade options and to download 2.16.1, see:
http://www.bugzilla.org/download.html .

Be sure to read the 2.16.1 release notes located within the release package
in docs/rel_notes.txt.

Thanks to everyone who worked on 2.16.1!

Hi
I want to set up Bugzilla for my company on Windows 2000 platform. The
bugzilla website suggested to get v2.17 from CVS to make it work fine
on Win32. But I am unable to find the version 2.17 for download
anywhere. Can you please let me know the link from where I can
download the v2.17. Also, I would really appreciate if you can tell me
the right version of bugzilla I should be using on win32.

Thanks,
Amit Gupta

2.17 still doesn't really work on Win32, I'm afraid. And, as the message
you saw says, you need to get it from CVS (our revision control system)
- it's not available for download as a tarball.

you can checkout bugzilla tip (development version - 2.17 in this case)
directly from CVS (bugzilla has no downloadable bleeding-edge nightly
builds).
If you do not have access to CVS (like you are behind a big big firewall
or something), then read installation guide for windows in bugzilla
documentation
http://www.bugzilla.org/docs/html/win32.html

Although installation wan't be a piece of cake, i think you can ignore
the first paragraph in that chapter(it's somewhat scary) if you know a
little about perl and know what "Search and replace" means :)
