See you on the next lap, Mike.
Geez, this is horrible! I'm *so* sorry to hear. All my condolances to the
family, and to us here on RSAM. He will be so very missed. Words would fail
to convey the respect I held for Mike.
This sucks.
Bob
I posted a message yesterday, but it hasn't made it through the
moderation process. In the fullest respect for a man I never
met, I hiked to the top of the basin. I thought of him for most
of my hike to the top. I was lucky enough to have talked to him on the
phone
about 7 some odd months ago. I plan on posting the pictures of
my summer A-Basin hike, as I feel this is the very minimum of
respect I could display for Mike.
I will also be posting this seperately to the sci.space.* news groups
that led me to the rec.skiing.* groups that he help me find.
The sci.space.* newsgroups should know.
BW, thanks for letting us know. I had not seen any posts from
Mike in a few weeks. This explains a great deal.

My appologies for the "me too" post, but ME TOO.
We'll miss you Mike.

About 11 weeks from now, at Loveland. I will log a lap for him then.

Sadly I never met the man. That would explain why I havn't seen
any posts from him in the ski & space science news groups in a while.
I am adding two space newsgroups that he posted to, as they
would probably like to know. It was through his posting in the
space newsgroups I found the skiing newsgroups.
I really don't know what else to say right now.
Sam
I did not know him directly either. I also enjoyed his posts. Makes me
feel good that some of us were able to meet each other earlier this
year...

Ditto. Speegle had another engagment on the 17 of May for
the Tan-O-Rama A-Basin RSA invasion, and so was unable to
make it. Shame that we did not have a chance to cross paths
in person.
Rest in peace fellow RSA poster, and may a pair of freshly
waxed straight skis line your side forever as a reminder of
all the great and worthwhile moments of your life - on and
off the slopes.
Your posts will be missed.

> The moderator team wishes to announce the passing of Mike Speegle,
Geez, you come back after a few days away to something like this! My
condolences to the family and friends. I will miss his posts too. Anyone
know what happened. I never got the impression that Mike was all that
old. Just goes to show you that we all must be ready to go at any time.
I'll ski a run here in PA in December when the slopes open in his honor.

One more "me too". I haven't been keeping up much this summer
and I just opened up to this. Sort of like a puch to the
stomach. And, again, I never met the guy but expect I will
a bit later.
