Can the Promise FastTrak100 TX4
be upgraded with the TX2 Bios Upgrade?
.
Has any one got winxp installed with a TX4
on an abit TH7ii-Raid motherboard with the
onboard raid chip dissabled.?

I've tried that, and it doesn't work. Only one bios chip updates; the other
bios fails. Had to reverted back to to their original firmware.

It's a shame really. The TX4 is excellent, except it won't work on PCI 66Mhz
with any AMD MP chipset. You'd think Promise would support it. :|

Anyways... question answered ;)

Could you possibly send me in a zip file the original tx4 bios
you have for reverting back, and do you know what bios ver
it is and did your card come with winxp drivers.?
.
A lot of questions i know but i am having hell with xp geting it going
the only success i have had is to use the ft100WD_200025.zip file
but it says at promise that it is to be used with the updated bios,
which i do not have. :(
.
Any info appreciated
.
My email is valid but you need to delete the obvious extras

Do I read that as that the TX4 card is actually 2 complete TX2s on one card?
Including the bootroms?

Hmm, did you use the Flash utility that comes with the TX4 update(s)?
Or is this question born out of a lack of such update(s)?

There is no TX4 update that i have found or even heard of.
I wonder if any could make the TX2 firmware modable to
up to the second part of the TX4, and then it would be done!

If it has 2 bootroms then the TX2 Flash utility must be able to
flash individual cards without the need for removal of other cards.
If it can't do that then it can't be used to flash the TX4.
