How exactly can I lock my customized toolbars from ever being changed by any
other excel document (protected or not) whether or not it alters (attempts
to) the toolbar arrangement? I have company forms created long ago by
someone who had wished to force toolbar hides and arrangements. Once I use
one of the forms all other workbooks are messed up until I reload my
customized bars. I created 5 bars to make it easy to get back. Now I am mad
and want this dance to end...

Registry?

Thanks
Michael

How about an alternative instead:

Search for your customized toolbar file. Save a copy in a nice place. Let the
other workbook do what it wants. When it's done, you just plop your backup copy
back into the right location.

This may serve another purpose, too. Excel's toolbar can get corrupt. By
backing up a fresh copy, you'll be able to restore this backup wheneven strange
things start happening.

If you like this:
Windows Start Button|Find|search for *.xlb
filename and location will vary.

If you find multiple versions, back to excel and add a dummy icon to a toolbar.
Then quit excel and search again. Use the one with the current date (and dump
the others???-- I would!).

Copy that to a nice location, but remember where it goes so when that !%$^$%ing
program is done, you can restore it to its pristine state.
