Salam,

I just cannot download it. There seems to be problems with Google
servers (downloading disrupt when the size reaches about 200kb to
200kb). I'll investigate it ASAP.

Thanks Reza,

Why Kanzul Eeman's Translation is Best?

About This Translation This English version of the Holy Quran is the
translation of Kanz-ul-Eeman the Urdu version of Imam Ahl-e-Sunnat
Maulana Shah Ahmed Raza Khan of Brielly.
This is an accepted fact that the revealed Arabic words of the Holy
Quran cannot be actually transformed in any other language of the
world. Literal translation of Arabic Quran conveying the same meaning
is not aonly difficult but is impossible.

Therefore the translation of Arabic Quran in any other language is
usually an explanatory translation. Imam Ahl-e-Sunnat Shah Ahmed Raza
Khan's Urdu translation knowd as Kanz-ul-Eeman is an explanatory
translation. This explanatory translation of Urdu was completed in the
beginning of 20th Century i.e. 1910.

It is the most famous and accepted urdu translation of muslims
belonging to the school of jurisprudence and the institution of the
people of tradition and of the congregation in Indo-Pak sub-continent.

Imam Ahmed Raza Khan, a great jurist and a learned scholar of Islam
was born in 1858 at Brielly (India) an died in 1921. He is considered
to be the most learned and authentic authority on Quran, Sunnah and
jurisprudence by majority muslims of this sub-continent. He was a
great writer and wrote about one thousand (1,000) small and big books
relating to various aspects of Islam.

He devoted his entire life to the propagation of real faith and
traditions of the Holy Prophet (Salallaho Alaihi W'alihi Wasallam).
His main theme of the life was extreme and devoted love of ALLAH and
his last Messenger Muhammad (Salallaho Alaihi W'alihi Wasallam). He
could bear any thing except utterances against Islam, ALLAH and His
Messengers. He was a traditionist and a true follower of the
jurisprudence of Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifi (Radi ALLAH Unho). He was a
great mystic too and was a staunch lover of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani
(Radi ALLAH Unho) of Baghdad.

Imam Ahmed Raza Khan's religious works have no parallel in his time.
His ability, far-sightedness and depth of thought have been recognized
by the Ulmas and Muftis of all the four scholars of jurisprudence not
only of this sub-continent but of Harmain Sharifain and other Muslim
world. He was awarded certificates of recognition by these men of
Islamic learning when he visited Harmain Sharifain for performing Hajj
(Pilgrimage) in the begining of 20th Centrue.

Though he has written numerously, but his two most famous works the
translation of Holy Quran in Urdu and Fatawa-e-Razavia in twelve huge
volumes have proved his superiority, deep thinking, ability and
extreme love of ALLAH Almighty and the Prophet Mohammad (Salallaho
Alaihi W'alihi Wasallam) over entire group of Ulmas of his time. Imam
Ahl-e-Sunnat Shah Ahmed Raza Khan filled a new spirit and enthusiasm
for Islam in the hearts of muslims. He revived love and affection of
the last prophet and his teachings. Seeing his works for the revival
of Islam, he deserves to be called a revivalist of 20th Century.

Assalamu alaykum

I have never read the translation of Mawlana Raza Khan (rahmatullahi alayh), but I hope nothing controversial (i.e. takfir of Deobandis) is in it.

Dear Abdul Mannan,

You requested the addition to which Mohsin has agreed and is working on it. Please be a bit patient and wait till he gets the time to do it. I would advise giving him a hand in this instead of demanding its completion. Many of us, including me, await this translation to be addded and hopefully it will be done. Pray to ALLAH that this gets accomplished.

Thanks.

Regards,
Sohail

Salam,

I've uploaded Kanzul Iman here:
http://siahe.com/zekr/download/trans/!!kanzul_iman!!.zip

This had a large number of aya-numbering problems (as well as
punctuation mistakes which is still not fixed). I made some numbering
corrections based on Jalandhry's translation (I don't know Urdu), but
there seems to be still some problems. Sura Al-Takathor (102) for
example had 6 ayas in the text, and I couldn't separate them into 7
ayas, so please let me know how to split the first aya.
Sura Al-Hamd (1) had 7 ayas but without "بسم الله...", which I the
joined two verses to make it like other translations, so also check
this for any potential problems.

As soon as I had these problems fixed, it will be added to resource page.

Regards.

Imam Abu Hanifah did not consider the basmalah an ayah of Fatihah (although he still considered it an ayah of the Qur`an as it is in another surah). Therefore, this discrepancy is due to Shaykh Ahmad Raza Khan Barelwi's being a Hanafi.
I don't know about al-Takathur.

Salam,

Why don't you try it yourself. It is quite easy. Ayas are separated
with a $ sign. You should find the place where there are two ayas in
translation section of an aya. Try a manual binary search from where
you are sure that there is no problem.

These aya misplacements last until sura "التكاثر", where there is no
translation for two last ayas.

I won't link to this translation on resource page, until we fix such mistakes.

Regards.

Salam Alaikum,

I fixed the aya-breaks in Sura al-Takaththur.
The first Aya of Sura Yasin is "Ya Sin" and is left untranslated in
the Urdu, and correctly marked.
The final ayat of Sura Fatir are all correct. (Not sure what "First
Aya at the End of Sura Fatir" refers to exactly.)
I haven't installed zekr yet, as I don't have JRE installed. Maybe
when Feisty is released I'll try out Gnome and Java and everything and
take a look.
With the text, I'm not really clear where the problems are. If someone
points in the direction of apparently missing ayat, I'll try to fix
them insha' Allah.
The faida marks are for a commentary on the translation by another
author. They don't really belong here. I'll take them out if that's
OK.
For now, I've uploaded a corrected zip at: http://sunnimosque.com/!!kanzul_iman!!.zip

Salam,

Alex, your translation still has problems. You didn't remove those
"N/A" signs from the text, so the two first ayas of sura Al-Asr are
now removed :)

See the one I corrected , and let me know if has any problem:
http://siahe.com/zekr/download/trans/kanzul_iman.zip

The only problem I found with this one is 3:37, which seems to be
incomplete. Actually it is incomplete even in the MS Word document
uploaded on the group.

Regarding JRE, note that Zekr works with GCJ on Edgy (6.10), so GCJ on
Feisty should also work.

Best.

This aya (Al-e Imran: 37) is complete and the same as the printed
version.
Thank you for the tip on GCJ, it works very nicely. An excellent
contribution all around.
What would have to be done to get this included in Ubuntu Backports,
perhaps with language packs for the various translations?

We are trying to add it to Ubuntu Universe. There was some licensing
(non GNU) issues with 0.5.0b2 which are fixed in the current release.
I hope this time there would be no problem.

Reza, please make a try to create a Zekr-compliant translation
yourself. It is quite easy. Just separate 6236 different parts in a
file, and together with a proper translation.properties, make the zip
file.

Best.
