Paragraph styles

Hi

 

Any ideas about how I can allow a client to use uStore Multiline text input to enter several paragraphs and then have InDesign style the first paragraph only in bold and the rest in plain style.

 

I've tried using Paragraph styles and the 'Next Style' options but they don't seem to apply to the ADOR and everything comes through as bold. I've tried Setting it as the frames object style but again it doesn't seem to effect the ADOR and I've also tried a grep style looking for the paragraph break and styling everything before the first break to bold but again it doesn't seem to work.

 

It seems like InDesign is seeing the ADOR as a single line and styling it before the ADOR is replaced by the multiline text. (Other than asking the user to enter the first paragraph seperately from the rest!)

 

Any ideas?

Why don't you just enable rich Text Editing and let the end user format
the text?

Stefan makes a good point for the RTE. RTE would be the easiest for
the end user to understand, plus it is something that can be enabled
through scripting in the DB if you have multiple products that are
already setup in your storefronts.

I could use RTE but, the client want to have 'design' control over the text and wants every first paragraph to be formatted in bold. Allowing the end user on the web the ability to use the RTE doesn't allow me to enforce the design requirements we are being given.

 

It just seemed like it should be simple to get InDesign to format the text being entered online, but maybe not!

I'd use a little bit of qLingo to break a single variable campaign dial into two parts and shove each into two ADORs.
