This could be an interesting project - put together a Kaltura film
showcasing Wikieducator's work in different countries for the Pangea
day festival. They are offering access to a music library as well as
subtitling in various languages. The one thing is getting good audio
from the spoken clips - and there might not be a lot of external mikes
so getting closer to the camera is always an option (and speaking
louder).

music library: http://www.eliasarts.com/Pangea

Sounds like a great idea Stefan - we could also incorporate the finished version in future WikiEducator trainings...

I'll get some clips in from down here in Otago...

Who's generating the page and Kaltura editor?

. I will be talking with the people from Elias Arts today regarding
being able to access their music library for Wikieducator projects -
this would be a great resource (as they do the work for Hollywood
productions). Makes me nervous, but if you never ask...I also wonder
if there might be use in putting up a page on how to get good audio
without any expensive gear. I can try although I'm certainly no
expert. I suppose I could generate the Pangea_Day page with a brief
description of the project...

Do you use Archive, ccmixter and freesound? Extensive free music and sound libraries.

Yes I use archive.org and a bit with ccmixter, but haven't tried
freesound yet. Thanks, Leigh.

I will be speaking with Elias Arts tomorrow about the possibility of
having a soundtrack music library for Wikieducator, and have started
up a Kaltura about visual storytelling at the Pangea day page on WE.
Kaltura doesn't seem to want to accept video files right now - anyone
know anything about this?

Hows people's progress on Pangea day projects? There's a good sound track in there at least. We've had a small amount of interest here, I think I ask around to see if we can get some commitment to adding our story

Pangea Day: film as passport, translator, olive branch

Can film erase borders? The people of Japan, Australia, Kenya and France sing the national anthems of Turkey, Lebanon, India and the United States in the latest sampling of inspiring -- if subversive -- videos released by Pangea Day. The series was produced by creative agency Johannes Leonardo.

Could this provoke peace? Watch Kenya sing for India, and decide for yourself:
