Hi folks,

Is there a way to build interactive tables in Wikieducator?
Specifically I'd like to have young students track plant growth over
time and enter the data in a two-column table (day since planting, and
plant height). In an ideal world I'd like their data to automatically
be reflected in a simple line graph with day on the horizontal and
height on the vertical. What can I tell you, I want it all? So, is
this technically difficult? Is somone doing this already? (I'm not
above 'borrowing' their code; I'll cite them of course.

Thanks,

Declan:

There may be a way to get something like this going; take a look at this template: http://www.wikieducator.org/Template:Dashboard_L4C and also this: http://www.wikieducator.org/Template:PageProgress

it uses a template variable to stretch a table cell with a background colour in it, so that you get a kind of a bar graph thing going on.

Might also be worth taking a quick look at this project on Wikiversity: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Bloom_clock

brent.

Hi Declan,

You might want to lobby for the Gnuplot extension to be enabled:

Thanks for the suggestions folks, these are interesting options. If I
come up with any other alternatives I'll post them. In the past we
had kept it fairly simple and just uploaded finished student plots:
