Hey guys,

I was wondering how it would be possible to integrate a lightbox
that has the ability to open up pages in web2py?

For instance, I would like login/signup forms to pop up into
lightboxes instead of a new page.

I'm not sure how this would work - especially when you have protected
pages, if they clicked the link, would it popup with a signup form?
That would seem like bad usability, instead of going to a page with
information, and a signup form.

You could do it pretty easy with what you have now. Personally I don't
think it would be a good idea, as I develop for mobile phones that done'
like or support that idea. It's better to implement that yourself.
It's possible.

Look into http://www.web2py.com/events/default/index

It does something very close to what you ask. There will be newer
version posted soon with more options.

Jason,
Interesting position coming from the mobile end.

This poses an interesting idea - I assume with browser detection we
can work around this, to goto an actual form page?

While I have your attention - How does Ajax perform - if at all, on
mobile browsers?

They can, but I live in Finland and all our phones are better then your
phones. :P
Depends A LOT on the phone. To bring up different pages depending on
the phone we use pywurfl a very nice too that has a large database of
phones and what they can support. (You can even add your own phone
support too.)
Many phones today are starting to move to a Javascript UI (The palm pre
for example), crazy enough.
