hello anyone.

i installed vim on my firefox and i need to get it out of there.

when i downloaded the extension, the instructions said that vim would hide the firefox tool bar and if i wanted to get them back i should type :set guioptions+=mT. but where am i supposed to type this? i figured it would be included in the instructions but i was wrong. i cant find any instructions for it on the site either.

i guess its one of those things i "should know". but i dont. so someone please help so i can get my firefox back.

thanx

vince

Just type it with a Firefox window open and your cursor not inside some
text box on the webpage. The moment you type the : you should see it
appear at the bottom of the window, and the rest of the command you type
will appear there after it as you continue. When you have finished,
press Enter, and you should have your menus and toolbars back.

From there, of course, you can access the Extensions/Add Ons item to
uninstall it.

I think that's how it'll work. I did the same thing a while back, but am
just working from memory now, not actually trying it.

Ben.

I looks like a set command so you type it from within vim. So just type
exactly that from vim. It you want it loaded as a default edit the file
.vimrc in your home directory.

Sorry if this is a double post, I received an e-mail stating there was an
error posting...

AFAICS Ben's suggestion was correct. Anyway you could try typing
ZQ
to quit firefox and then from console, type
firefox -safe-mode
so that you'll get the chance to disable or un-install that addon.

Incidentally the vimperator forum should be the right place to ask.

:-D :-D :-D

Microsoft-Megabucks works by cutting down on everything which does not
immediately funnel big bucks into Bill Gates's pocket.

Service? If you want any, you first got to pay through the nose. Some
years ago I had problems with Windows so I asked help by email (or was
it by web form?) from Microsoft. Answer: "Your version of Windows is
meant to be sold with a computer and includes no support from Microsoft.
You must ask support from your computer retailer." Sure! Except my
computer retailer had gone bankrupt by that time.

Bug fixes? Twice a year, if you're lucky; and if you yourself found
where the error lies it means you're guilty of breach of countract by
having committed "disassembly and reverse-engineering" so YOU should pay
Microsoft BIG BUCKS if they find out that you've fixed a bug in their
product without being their employee. (Morality: don't try, and use
Linux, Mozilla and Vim rather than Windows, IE+OE and Notepad.)

Best regards,
Tony.

Phew -- I thought I was losing my mind seeing someone claim
to have installed vim in firefox :-)
