A Preliminary Research Model for Service-Oriented Architecture Initiatives
Abstract
The initiative to implement service-oriented architecture (SOA) as a vision and philosophy can help a business to leverage technology and to make it more agile and flexible. However, enterprises cannot fully exploit the SOA benefits, if bad information is delivered that is worthless to customers, suppliers and partners. In this context, there is a need for quality information techniques to build reliable SOA from the beginning. This research proposes a preliminary research model for embedding information quality (IQ) into SOA initiatives. Findings from a recent case study will be presented where IQ issues on how people, technology and the organisation interact within SOA are discovered.
