This is a really great project. It will simplify offline clients considerably. I'm not so much interested in web-based IDEs but apps in general. Many years ago I wished to have "cvs for objects". 

There is also the potential for peer to peer sharing the git way without central data storage. Another plus ist that encryption can be used as needed.

I like this project so much that I backed it to reach its funding goal.
