Anyone fancy a ride-out on Sunday?

I know a cracking bit of road out to the coast:

The B1012 from Wickford to South Woodham Ferrers and then North
Fambridge when it becomes the B1010 to Burnham-on-Crouch which is
a cracking bit of road, with a series of 90deg bends separated by
short straights. It claims a couple of lives a year, but they're
usually back-to-front baseball cap wearers.

Burnham is a seaside town, and there's a tea bar down by the
marina where lots of bikers meet on a Sunday morning.

After refreshments, we can take the same road back, or take the
B1021 to Southminster then Asheldem, Dengie, Tillingham and
Bradwell-on-Sea. (these two options can be combined if need be,
as the area is a peninsula and I have extensive local knowledge)
Then there are unclassified roads from Bradwel to St Lawrence,
Steeple and Mayland (where, should we be inclined, we can go to
my parents' place for a cup of tea). From there, we're almost
back to South Woodham Ferrers through Latchingdon, Cold Norton
and Stow Maries.

I suggest a meeting point of the BP garage by the Darby Digger
pub in Wickford. Take the A127 to the A132 (Wickford and
Basildon) exit and go towards Wickford. The garage is on the
right hand side of the first roundabout you'll come to.

I've got shit to do, so an early start would be good. 9.30 meet,
leaving at 10.00?

As you've gone to all this trouble planning this route that I've just gone
and snipped, it would be rude not to.

F*ck me that's early. Guess I'll have to remember to set the alarm.

Well, just think of all the DIY you can get done when you get
home to find that the afternoon is stretching out ahead of you...

You do realise that Darsy won't come because you've mentioned
that it goes out to the coast, don't you? ;-)

Sounds good ... I'll try and make it and txt you if there
are any problems.

Oh, and if anyone from west of the A12 wants to go the
"interesting" route to Wickford, drop me an email and
we'll meet near Chelmsford.

Fancy it, but had made plans with SO for Sunday. Will have to sweet-talk her
into delaying things for a couple of hours.

That's the route we started off on last night. Then went Burnham ->
Maldon -> Braintree -> Finchingfield -> Gt. Dunmow, which was a top route.
Have to watch out for police on the 1012 on Sundays though.

Hmm.. I'd say more 'riverside' - not enough amusement arcades and ice cream
for that tacky 'seaside town' feel.

Not really explored that area much - about time I did really.

Damn fine meeting point - my local. The roundabout outside's pretty good for
knee-down practise as well, as long as some muppet hasn't caked it in
diesel.

Stuff to do here too, so an early start / finish would be good for me as
well.

That's the joy in an early start, you see!

I don't know why I wrote that. Probably because I'm a bit
stupid.

Good man. Sort out the details with you SO (or bring her along),
and we'll see you Sunday.

Sorted. Suggested she join us on her bike or come pillion, but she decided
she'd rather have a lie-in instead. *sigh*.

My alarm knows its safer to lie low on Sundays as it gets called a
cnut if it forgets and goes off by mistake. alarms need their lie in
too you know - busy week ahead.

please tell me I'm not getting up at 8am on a sunday so you can DIY?

I *really* hate it when you do that...
