It'll be quick if it goes into Birkenhead. Quick as in stripped and
weighed in for scrap value.

Fuck off, it ain't even worth that.
Scrap prices are apparently at an all time high due to the demands for
raw materials in China. Weigh the fucker in and spend the money.
Yeah, I suppose it'd get more than a length of lead pipe.
How does one go about weighing something that big just out of curiosity?
Cut it up into little pieces?

You'd be offered a price for the whole package but nothing like the
true price of the scrap value if it was dismantled and separated.
Experience tells me that if you want to weigh in a pile of cable and
need to remove the plastic to get a better price don't throw petrol
over the mountain of cable then torch it. The resulting column of
smoke can be seen for several miles and you end up having to fuck off
quick as the police and fire brigade speed towards your ill gotten
gains.
Experience also tells me that if you overload the suspension of your
car with big bags of non ferrous materials you can end up spending
more having the car repaired than you got for said materials.

If it was something that floats you could put it in water
and see how much it displaces. Unfortunately it isn't. :-)
