As it has been demonstrated that the MX for chiark does not accept
<postmaster> as a valid address, and will not exchange mail with anyone
without breaching the Computer Misuse Act, can UK Voting and/or the
votetaker confirm that moninees or supporters with Chiark email addresses
will not be accepted?

It is surely necessary and correct to deny this criminal organisation the
oxygen of publicity (sorry Maggie)

Paul, really, just top. Firstly, if you want to talk to UK Voting, try
mailing them. Secondly, just stop, please.

I don't see anyone asking Jackson to stop... but it is him in the wrong.

Other than you, and the half a dozen other people who have already
commented on SAUCE in the last 5 days? Were they not requests to stop
then?

Paul - you do this, you pick a spot and you pick and pick until it's
bleeding and you don't realise you're as injured as everyone else. Just
leave it, you're getting increasingly erratic.

Phew! Not only does my MTA accept mail to <postmaster> but my email
client is willing (albeit reluctantly} to send it! Didn't have to
learn smtp! And presumably, having passed that test of RFC-compliant
virtue I don't have to await extradition to the Land of the Free with
so much trepidation.

Mine (Mailtraq) is fully compliant as well.

This is because I don't think I'm the author of dpkg when I'm not, and I
don't use my own abilities to write my MTA, just to manage it.

(It's called Schadenfraude, folks, not big, not clever)

Is that your pun? it would be you feeling the Schadenfreude, but I
presume you are referring to an ersatz variety?

The requirements for a nomination to be accepted are exactly the same as
for a vote, namely "Can the votetaker send you an e-mail without it
bouncing?" and "Can the votetaker validate the nomination/vote?"

Policing matters of RFC compliance is *NOT* part of the votetaking
organisation's remit. Indeed, I refer you to paragraph 1.2.2 of RFC1122:
"Be liberal in what you accept, and conservative in what you send."

Or, to put it another way, I am not prepared to be dragged into your
dispute with the Chiarkians. (Is that even a word? It is now. - Ed)

Cheers,

Barry
