This is a long shot but I have been recieving some nuisance calls on my
phone in the early hours. I know that the number is from Roding but cannot
narrow down the locality.

The number starts 020825

Does anyone know of the particular area?

Also another number has been causing me to get out of bed in the morning.
Though when I have rung this back there is a message 'This telephone does
not recieve incoming calls'. A Telephone box perhaps?

The number for this is 0208503871

Your help would be greatly appreciated on this one as these nuisance calls
can mean a matter of life and death to me as I am a practising Veternary
Surgeon.

Thanks

W. Hobbart

You may find that the no. not accepting calls is a fax no and that the
calls you are receiving are faxes.
Try sending a fax to those nos. if succesful you can complain to the
appropriate government dept and have yourself removed from the fax lists
as sending unsolicited faxes is now illegal
Sorry cant remember the name of the appropriate dept try Citizens advice

The number not accepting calls is not a fax as you would get a fax receive
signal.

Also what makes you think the 020 825 number in Roding? The only one I can find
listed is in Tooting?

Thanks for all your help but I was hoping there was a way that I could find
out where this sorry individual lives so I could go round there myself and
give him a 'smack'

have you tried the malicious calls unit at BT?

If you contact the BT malicious calls department or the equivelent
department with your telephone service provider, they are legally bound to
investigate nuisance calls. Please keep a log of times dates when you
receive the calls. If anything is said, note the exact words used. As far as
I am aware nuisance phone calls are illegal under the Wireless and
Telegraphy Act. BT will give you advice and send you a pamphlet giving more
information.

I believe the Roding area would be in the London Borough of Redbridge....If
that helps.

Good luck,

Rob.
