Fallout 3.
1100G, with all achievements gained in a single day.
Pretty impressive for a game where the main quest alone is commonly reckoned
to be 30+ hours...
Before I assume that this was some cheap hack on the PC version, or a
savegame on the 360 version, I'll throw the floor open to the man himself to
explain how he managed it. :)

For shame, Zomoniac. For shame. :p

Wow it took me 110 hours plus i reckon another 15 hours of going back to old
saves to get other achievements.

But then i did like wandering around as well.

Not least that you need to play through three times (or at least return
to earlier saves) to get them all.

Obviously he must be the best gamer ever so. It's official. The
achievements don't lie!

Can I just ask, what's the point? I don't understand why.... Do you get
something out of having all those points? What are you trying to prove?

I don't care about achievement points myself, I play a game and ignore
them completely. People who do like them put in more time and effort to
obtain them, and they get greater value from their games as a result. I
can respect certain people for having the skill to gain some
achievements too. Even those who "whore" points still put in some effort
to play the game to get them, sometimes using sneaky methods or picking
easy games. Either way, they still earn them.

But what is the point of cheating to get them? Is it just to try and
impress with your gamerscore? If so isn't that a bit pathetic? Please
explain it to me!

1. You're making a wild presumption :)

2. Yes, it's pathetic, but it's nothing to do with the wider world or
impress anyone. Myself and a personal friend have had a long-running
gamerscore battle for three years, in which the sole aim is to have the
biggest number, and get it by any way possible. It's not at all to show
off to anyone here, or to make people think I'm a good gamer, it's just
an in-joke that has gotten quite out of hand, and since our scores are
usually within a few hundred of each other, we both stoop to low levels
to get ahead at any given time. It's some harmless competitive fun.
Chill out.

I wasn't making any assumptions, I was asking why. Now you've explained,
it still seems a bit silly to me. Like I say, I couldn't care less about
achievement points, I just play games for the fun of it. But if you have
this little competition with your friend then good luck to you. Just
hope for your sake MS don't do another one of their "cheater" bans and
remove your gamerscore and label you.

Their cheater bans are for hacking and glitching game saves. I've never
got an achievement using a method that wasn't put into place by the
developer on purpose.

I call shenanigans!

So, if you haven't glitched them how did you get them all in one day?
Sounds like a downloaded save game to me.

Open Fallout 3 PC. Press ~ on the first menu to bring up the console.
Type "addachievement 1". Hit return. Repeat 53 times, changing the
number. You don't have to tell me it's sad :)

Based on the menu, I'd say it was like Oblivion with guns :)

Oblivion with guns and MOAR ADDICTIVNESSNESS, is how I'd put it.

I can't remember if you liked Oblivion? F3 is much better, truly worth
playing.

I do plan on giving it a proper play on 360. I hated Oblivion, but my
main objections were the ridiculously oversized yet entirely identical
world and the shocking combat controls, apparently both of which are
not really an issue in F3.

That pretty much matches my opinion of Oblivion, so there's a fair
chance you'll get sucked into Fallout3.

Well, that's fair enough I suppose - it probably took more time and effort
than getting 1k in Avatar. :)
Still, didn't you feel even the slightest bit of shame? :p

Whereas you're playing through every single game manually in Franchise mode,
yes?
I don't feel too bad about my Madden 07 achievements, actually. I played
quite a lot of games in amongst the simming. I will recommend that you avoid
the Superstar/Be A Pro mode altogether, though - it's hideous.
