Hey all...

The word is given (sorry watched ST2: Wrath of Khan a couple days
ago),

My company has given permission for the use of our building on
February 5th so get it on your schedule. It will run from 11:00 am to
10:00pm.

The technical address for the building is 59 West 900 North in
Springville however that is really the address for the road that LEADS
to this building. It is actually located directly behind the O'reilly
Auto Parts store on the north end of town. If you turn West on 900
North (there is a Far West Bank on that corner) you will notice a road
that will turn left that will cut behind the branch, the Karate
building and the O'reilly store. It will dead end at a building that
has the same brickwork as the Far West Bank branch. There are no
signs or indicators as to what the building is. I will have a sign on
the front door letting you know you arrived at the correct place.

This is not a full blown convention but simply something I am setting
up so that those of us that don't want to have to travel up to SLC for
the full convention can still have something close with no cost
involved.

When I say no cost I mean no money out of pocket. The COST for
attending is that you bring a bunch of games from your library that
will be available for others to use during the course of the day. I
am also planning a Crokinole tournament to weave throughout the day
just so that we can have some fun with it.

Feel free to bring your spouses or significant others but I request
that no children are brought. My company has been kind enough to
allow the use of the building and I don't want to risk injuries or
other liabilities that might incur once the element of children
becomes involved. I would say the age limit would be 13+.

There will be a fridge available upstairs in case any of you want to
bring along your own lunch or soft drinks (no alcohol please!). We
are within walking distance of a Subway and a Sonic Drive-in and there
are plenty of other places within easy driving distance.

Mark Crane has requested ways of filling out a game request so that
some games could be scheduled. I will see if this is something
feasible. I don't really want to have to spend a bunch of my time
organizing something elaborate. This is simply a day set aside for us
all to just get together and play board games. More details will
follow.

All I can say is, "WOW".    Nice job, Mathew!

Though I am suddenly, and unexpectedly, quite busy curing cancer (see Dragon's Keep thread for the reason why), I plan to take time to attend this event.  I will bring my crokinole board among other games.

"Mark Crane has requested ways of filling out a game request so that

feasible. "

I just thought we could email to the list and gather names for longer games that work well with larger numbers.  Nothing fancy.

Anyway, this is a great thing you are doing!  I think we should have a secret knock or password.

This is really outstanding. I'm planning to be there. And I'll suggest that we get in a 7-player game of Struggle of Empires while we're there. :)

In an attempt to save you the time it took me to Google Map the directions to Matt's workplace, I've attached some maps.

For those traveling on I-15,
1) Take Exit 261, heading east on UT-75 towards Springville.
2) Then turn right on US-89/State St./Main St.  (yes, the main road goes by all of those names)
3) Turn right on 900 N.
4) Turn left behind the Far West Bank.
5) Proceed directly south until you run into Matt's workplace.

Notice that Matt has already draped a large banner saying "Gathering" over his workplace in the attached satellite view.

OK, I am all for doing some longer games but we first need to make sure we have a host for said game.  If you are willing to HOST one of these meaty types of games please let me know here and I will add it to a signup page I am creating here:

The two listed so far are simply a SAMPLE so don't start signing up yet  :)

I'll host SoE.

I guess I should say that I'll host SoE with 4-7 players (it plays fewer, but I'm not too interested unless we have at least 4) and I expect it to take between 3-5 hours depending on player count.

I'd love to attend this. I haven't been to too many UCBA game nights
before (probably 2), but will try to come to this if I'm welcome.

Jeremy,

It is open to anyone that is a member of this group so you are more than welcome.

How about friends and family of a member of this group?

Not a problem :) I do have a limit of about 45 so I started a sign
up page (see link in later post). Those that have already posted that
they will be coming will get bumped to the top of the list.

Hey Gamers,

I'm planning on being there. I can bring a Hilinski Brothers
Crokinole board and I can bring a champion carrom board if anyone is
interested. I also have a few essen titles hard to find in the US
like 51st State, K2, Norenberc, and Stronghold Undead. My collection
is decent sized. Look at Rhinestone Cowboy on the geek and let me
know if there is anything else any one wants to play.

Cool Jacob,

I think that means we will have 5 Hilinski boards there - that will be a site to behold.

I would love to try out 51st state and Stronghold Undead. Please put
me down for those if they make it to the table.
