Quickie Review: AMC's Hell on Wheels

I am predisposed to like westerns, but I'm less inclined to like pilot
episodes. This was a good pilot episode. It had to accomplish a lot,
and it did a good job with most of it. Some of the storylines seem
predictable, but I'm hoping to be surprised from time to time.

I liked the pilot too, but season 1 was not nearly as good as it promised to be. It never shook the feeling of being a low-rent Deadwood. Hopefully season 2 will be better.
