Beginning to look into TiddlySpace.

I suggest a public "help/knowledge space" abailable from all
tiddlyspaces - e.g via a link in MainMenu or backstage or a [?] button
on each tiddler, or similar.

...and this space is one open for public editing. Compare to;
http://hoster.peermore.com/recipes/tiddlywiki-reference/tiddlers.wiki
or perhaps tiddlywiki.org

As far as I can tell, the NUMBER ONE problem for TW is the threshold
for new users to "get it". If you don't see how something will be of
use right away then... well, "Next!"

TiddlySpace seems like the perfect place for its own knowledge
documentation (and possibly for other TW forms as well). NOTE: I think
regular users would feel "safer" to contribute there if e.g UnaMesa is
officially behind it and the purpose of it is explained on some
welcome page or similar. The TiddlyWiki Reference link above is a bit
unclear on purpose, how serious/official/endorsed it is etc.

For one thing, I think this idea would *save* a lot of work if
implemented right away; questions (and answers) tend to drown when
discussed on the boards here, and the quick development of TiddlySpace
outdates answers quickly.

Thank you.

Mat,

This seems like a good suggestion. We've long wanted to use the power
of TiddlyWiki to document the power of TiddlyWiki :-)

The stumbling block has always been support for multi-user / public
editing. TiddlySpace addresses many of these issues and UnaMesa would
be supportive of community efforts to build a knowledge space using
those capabilities. For the moment, we're still working out how we
can best serve the community interests with respect to the TiddlySpace
service. That could include playing some type of moderator role for
specific wikis on TiddlySpace as you suggest, or perhaps operating a
clone of the TiddlySpace service for certain types of resources.
Other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for your reply Greg!

Would there be a need for moderation? (Are there any moderators for
this group, here?)
At tw.org there is no moderation, indicating that people behave well.
Also, here and in the tw group there is very little bickering.
Besides, my point about e.g UnaMesa endorsing it doesn't necessarily
mean it is responsible for it.

Would that clone idea mean those tiddlers are not reachable from the
standard tiddlyspace then? Sounds like an unfortunate solution IMO. A
"editing by members only" sounds better.

Ok, this is a lot more ambitious though (although Mr.Mahemoff does
this with incredible ease):

i.e if such a thing could be implemented, we could have a combined
discussion forum and knowledge wiki in one place. It does seem like
the optimal combo. Some tiddlers could be tagged as help-tiddlers,
either by the author or perhaps by some user rating system or both.
