no viewing remote fields with view macro?

I haven't been able to find info on this. I'd have thought this
should work:

<<view wt@weight>>

I.e. to view the field "wt" in the tiddler "weight"

but it doesn't. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just not a
currently available function?

The TW core's <<view>> macro does not allows you to reference fields
outside the current tiddler.

You can use
http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#WikifyPlugin
to display field values from other tiddlers, like this:
<<wikify "%0" "wt@weight">>

Thanks Eric, I'd only thought of the "fancy" uses of WikifyPlugin.
