Late Sunday night and early Monday morning, from 12 to 6am GMT,
the TiddlySpace server at http://tiddlyspace.com will be undergoing
maintenance to update the data storage system to be more flexible
and performant. During this time the service will be unavailable,
or if up, unreliable.

Under normal circumstances we try to avoid this severity of downtime for
upgrades and maintenance work. In this case, however, the entire
datastore is being migrated; to avoid loss of data the service must be
shut down. While the migration is not expected to take the full six
hours, scheduling a large window provides useful flexibility.

TiddlySpace users are advised to save everything in their space back
to tiddlyspace.com before the end of Sunday the 23rd. Any tiddlers that
have not been saved will result in problems when the service has
returned.

If you are interested in additional technical details on what the
migration is for, please see Database Migration Proposal[1].

This has been done. The actual downtime was from 12 to about 4:00.
Surprisingly the migration took longer in the production setting than
my test environment (with the same data).

I believe things are working correctly now, but if you have issues
please post here. Also post if you notice that the service is behaving
slower or faster. I suspect it will be faster for some operations and
slower for others. It will take a few days of tweaking to get things
just so.

I'll write up a full report on the overnight migration after I've had
some sleep or coffee.

Great work Chris,

Some days ago I asked for "Fast query for a tag (tsScan)" [1]
The old scan needed about 30 seconds to display something.

Now it takes about 2.7 seconds. Factor 10 is nice :)
Good work.

I hope you took the sleep :)

I've noticed a bug in search which appears to be due to some left over
test data. This will be fixed asap.

I went for three hours of sleep.
