WebMail isn't compatible with Thunderbird 6. Anyone know if there is
going to be a update soon?

Hi,

The Hotmail extension return the following error when trying to log in
"Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server localhost responded:

thanks for your help

Based on your indication that the listed extensions were compatible w/ Thunderbird 6, I installed:

-- Thunderbird 6
-- Webmail 1.4.2
-- Webmail Yahoo 1.5.3

Upon restart, my 3 Yahoo POP accounts:

-- displayed: Sending of password did not succeed, Mailserver localhost responded: that's cool
-- Clicked OK
-- displayed: Login to localhost failed. Retry and Enter New Password did not resolve issue.

Had to hit Cancel for each "Login to localhost failed" pop-up to stop endless loop.

Thunderbird 5, Webmail 1-4-0a1, and Webmail Yahoo yahoo-1-5-0 worked fine before these changes.

Really don't want to go backwards. Any suggestions?

Same here, all webmail accounts are now download except on the one standby system I didn't upgrade in my network. Failure on both Win2000 and Linux Lucid Lynx (10.04) systems.

I hope this is not going the norm for the Mozilla.org to rapid release upgrades to Thunderbird and Firefox. Most of the extension authors are probably going nuts by now.  We hadn't got all the problems caused by the last upgrade fixed yet.

I getting a migraine upon a migraine from all these changes...

They say that it is their goal to make releases very often. On the other
hand, they are also going to hide the version number from the user.
They should calm us all, by explaining how it's spposed to work for
extensions.

Thunderbird 5, Webmail 1.4.1, Webmail Yahoo 1.5.0 worked well.

I attached my log (zip), this may help - but I got "An error (#339) occurred while communicating with the server", try to post after removing the attachment.

We are dependent upon the good offices of the author of WebMail and
its helpers, so be patient or he may go away!
However it is a pity that Mozilla can't either check that your add-ons
are compatible before upgrading or offer a quick way to roll back if
you have problems!
This is not the way to get people to migrate from M$ feeble offerings.

Jeremy, Webmail 1.4.1 is for TB5. It doesn't work Below TB5.0.0 It use the new Gecko language interface.

    Try the following webmail.xpi

    http://downloads.mozdev.org/webmail/web-mail-1-3-13.xpi

This the last known webmail update that I know of for for TB3.1.*

I take some of that back. Updated to TB 6 and the Yahoo extension is
also not compatible. So that makes both Webmail and Yahoo
incompatible. I looked and the max version is correct for TB 6.

Thunderbird 6 compatibility checker is claiming that the Webmail

    Daifne,

If I'm understanding extension hierarchy correctly, all email extensions (yahoo, gmail, etc) depend on the Webmail extension to function as designed.

In fact, the email extensions might be fine in their current state. However, since the Webmail extension has problems, the email extensions are useless.

If anyone else has better information, feel free to correct my misstatements.

I am just curious. Can someone tell me why you use webmail extensions
for hotmail and gmail accounts, considering
they are already pop enabled and can be directly configured as such? I
use webmail only for Yahoo since pop is
available only for yahoo premium accounts.

POP/SMTP ports might be blocked when you are behind a firewall and hence need a web access for the emails.

Okay folks; I received this version overnight from the Webmail Author. It fixed my login problems with the webmail extension. It appears that the Mozilla group change the command structure of TB slightly.

Please give the following a tryand see if it works for you. It will be for only TB6.

I have a quick question... before I installed the 1.4.3 webmail
update, I activated the IMAP version of Yahoo Mail. Now, although
this works very well, I would like to know if Yahoo Mail and Yahoo
Mail IMAP would conflict with each other, because I am getting new
messages with IMAP, but not with Yahoo Mail. I am using Yahoo 1.5.3
    and Webmail 1.4.3 now.

It may be that once mails have been marked read by IMAP, they no longer
appear as new mails to be downloaded by the extension?

Actually, I realized when I changed back to using Webmail from IMAP,
that I forgot to change the port back to the Unsecured default. Now
    works great!!

    Hello,

still can't get no luck with webmail+yahoo after upgrade. I'm using:

    Thunderburd 6.0.1 Webmail 1.4.3 (web-mail-1-4-3-1.xpi) and Yahoo 1.5.3
    (yahoo-1-5-3-1.xpi)

Please, let me know what's wrong. This is my log file:
