Sending password fails (hotmail)

This is a rather delicate error.
If you use some "special" characters in your password like &, ( ...
all hotmail plugin betas after 1.2.18 give me the "Sending of password
did not succeed. Mailserver localhost responded: negative vibes
from ...@hotmail.com" error
I had to change my password to be able to use .

Wow...thanks...that was the trick for me also (on
hotmail-1-2-19b45)...hope that can be fixed (one day).

Update...for me, special characters in the password turned out not to
be the problem after all.

I can reproduce the following scenario. If anyone else can also,
perhaps it will be a clue for webmail author.

Config
-Use add-ons: hotmail-1-2-19b45.xpi and web-mail-1-3-3b3.xpi
-You will need two Thunderbird profiles
-Use the add-on ProfileSwitcher 0.3.4.1

Assumption
-There are no other issues, add-on or otherwise, that are blocking
your sync from Tbird to hotmail

Steps
1. Close all running Thunderbird processes
2. Start the Thunderbird profile that uses the hotmail add-on
3. Assuming you are having success in general with
hotmail-1-2-19b45.xpi, test and confirm you sync with hotmail
4. Leaving the first (hotmail using) thunderbird profile open, use the
ProfileSwitcher to open a second instance of Thunderbird (note: my
second profile does not contain or use the hotmail add -- I do not
know if this is a necessary condition)
5. Test and confirm the (previously successful) hotmail-using profile
can now NOT connect to hotmail
6. Close the second thunderbird profile/instance
7. Test and confirm the hotmail-using profile can again connect to
hotmail

This works for me whether I use special characters in my password or
not. So far, anyway...got my fingers crossed. :)

Sigh...details, details...

Correction to my previous post above: I only tested receiving mail,
which works as described above...sending mail does NOT work at all
using the above described configuration (for me).

This got me past the password issue and allowed me to download emails,
however I am now unable to send emails and get the following error

Hotmail-SR-BETA: loginHandler : Exception : TypeError.
Error message: szCookie.match(patternHotmailMT) has no properties

When going into preferences for the plugin I get the following error.

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: chrome://hotmail/content/Hotmail-Prefs.xul

Hmm, this could also be a problem with webmail 1.3.3b.
I had to change my passwords and switch to 1.3.2
And I am able to send mail using webmail.

Glad it's working for someone. I downgraded to WebMail 1.3.2 and still
got the same error in the SMTP log:

My Win XP SP3 PC has IE 8b2 on it. Might that have something to do
with things not working?

I can also confirm that removing a '#' character from my password
allows me to download emails again :) I had sugested this a few
builds/postings ago, but was relluctant to change my password because
I know I'll forget the new one.
