I am trying to integrate the tessnet2 component into my .Net
application. I have followed the instructions on
http://www.pixel-technology.com/freeware/tessnet2/ but i am getting
the following exception when i try to execute my code.

System.IO.FileLoadException was unhandled

application has failed to start because the application configuration
is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Hi,

You're certainly missing C++ runtime.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&displaylang=en

I'll correct my web page to add this link.
This runtime is mandatory and not installed with .NET 2.0 framework.

Remi,

A user has complained about this exception also. Could it be a result
of the AssemblyVersionAttribute in AssemblyInfo.cpp for version
2.0.3.3 being left at 2.0.3.2?

Quan

Hi,

No, I really think this is because the C++ runtime is missing on the
machine.
When compiling a Managed C++ assembly like tessnet2.dll, we can only
link with DLL C++ Runtime. So you need these DLL to be present on the
machine (msvcrtx.dll ..)
For the version problem I have recompile and update the zip file, you
can download it to be really ok with version info.

Cheer,

Hi,

I tried it with Visual Studio 8, new assembly version and the redists
of C++.
It does not work. I also have the same error, that the dll could not
be loaded.

The demo binaries could be executed. Compiling the sources works - but
executing.

I'm doing some test. Give me 1 day to find the problem.

Okay,

The problem was because C++ runtime I was pointing is buggy.
Deploy the SP1 version "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable
Package (x86)" and it works

Hi all,
I want to use tesseract library in C++ in Linux. I'm a Windows guy and
I have a little knowledge about C++ in Linux. How can I do that?

Best regards,
Hossein

Call tesseract through the base api in ccmain/baseapi.h and link the tesseract_full library.
Ray.
