Shall I go back and look at some of your other predictions? I believe

Ok, I went back and read the article. Heavily biased as expected.

We've been over this ground before but let me offer my perspective:

- U.S. Healthcare has already been taken over. Taken over by monopolies
who have profit as their goal, not public service. Corporate interests
have monopolized pharmaceuticals forever.

- The FDA has given then carte blanc and even made over the counter drugs
prescription or difficult to obtain without a doctors permission.
Corporate interests have taken over patient medical delivery. This is a
relatively new monopoly although it hs been decades in coming.

- Lawyers have run up healthcare costs with class action lawsuits. Watch
the commercials on your prime time or late night tv. Outrageous awards
do cost everyone (and the lyingscumbag lawyers get 1/3 to half) plus
cause doctors to practice defensive medicine.

- Malpractice insurance is enormous. Legal monopoly forces every dispute
into an adversarial situation which requires their own services.

- The American Medical Association has a monopoly on healthcare
delivery. Midwives are essentially out of business, attacks on
alternative medicine practitioners prevent competition. Even while they
keep homeopathy under their broad umbrella.

The problem isn't whether the Federal government is "taking over"
healthcare. Healthcare has already been taken over. Due to reality and
the economic situation Obama cannot confront these powerful lobbies
directly however a "public option" provides some competition which will
force better prices for all.

Instead of attacking a half-assed solution let's go after the real cause,
corporate and federal monopolies.

Ayup. But then..Christmas is coming and every town hangs decorations

What is more festive and cheerful than a long main street with a couple
Leftards hanging from each lamp post?

Then why the Hell isn't _this_ four years doing anything about it except
making it worse, eh?

I'm with Winston: Two parties, not a dime's worth of difference in
anything that counts, just in the rhetoric.

What "conservatives" are you talkin about? More Americans identify
themselves as conservatives than as liberals.

Maybe you're thinking about Republicans. Lots of folks get them mixed
up.

I'd suggest painting the balls of hanging demo-rats a bright red and
sprinkling them with glitter just so they'll be mistaken for Christmas
decorations. Prollum is demo-rats with testicles don't exist
naturally in nature. It's what makes them demorats/progressives.

You >>MIGHT<< be able to make a credible, if unconvincing, argument that
Democratic Party officials want an "omnipotent centralized Federal
government."

You'll never sell me that "Democrats" want any such thing...

Which is why nothing will change until we force serious election reform
upon the politicians. For decades any movement in that direction has
been thwarted by the legislative branch.

Time for a Consitutional Convention by citizens, not lawyers.

Exactly. And most are too fucking stubborn to recognize it while
obsessing on a fruitless battle with perceived opponents who have pretty
much the same desires. We live on the planet Ariannus.

Hey Danny. I hate to be the one to break the sad news but your
"democrat" party has been hijacked by far left fringe kook
progressives that want nothing more than to fundamentally change the
framework of America. IOW, totally destroy the free market system and
replace capitalism with marxism. And they're hellbent for leather to
shove as much of it down our throats before 2010 when there'll be a
bloodbath in congress.
