Who is Phillip Bree?
St John’s Antigua, April 28th, 2010 - The United Progressive Party claims Phillip Bree is the name of UK attorney from whom it solicited a legal opinion on the recent ruling of Justice Louise Blenman which invalidated the March 2009 election victories on Baldwin Spencer and two other UPP parliamentarians.
But based on routine fact checks for credibility this is just another desperate UPP attack on Justice Blenman using a phantom UK lawyer and a totally bogus legal opinion concocted from the slime of UPP hatred.
The UPP opinion, fraudulently attributed to a fake attorney and predictably critical of the Blenman judgment can be found on Caribarena.com in a story over the by-line of Andy Liburd. Headlined “UK Lawyer says Blenman erred”, the article “confirmed” that “Attorney Phillip Bree… was asked by the ruling party to provide his views on the judgment”.
The confirmation notwithstanding, there is no indication that Liburd at the Antigua based news website actually contacted Bree in the process of “confirmation” or is even aware that he exists.
Indeed, before this Caribarena posting dated April 26, 2010, GOOGLE, the world’s leading internet search engine had no prior content on any attorney named Phillip Bree practicing law in the UK.
The unsigned opinion circulated in a PDF file with no author information on the properties page, associates Bree with the letters ‘LLB (Hons), PGDL, MA (Legal Practice), LLM’. But the name Phillip Bree is nowhere to be found in the UK register of attorneys. And in a search of websites listing law firms and lawyers in the UK, the name Phillip Bree does not show up either.
Deception?
Try typical, classic UPP!
