I have two ASE servers - SRV_1 (Unix) & SRV_2 (Linux). Configuration
of these two ASE servers are exactly similar as far as I know. But
there is a "drop index" command that is showing huge time difference
between these servers.
In SRV_1 (Unix) it's taking few seconds but in SRV_2 (Linux) it's
taking 40-60 min to execute. There was no lock on the table when the
command was being executed.
Can you all please help me out with the possible reasons behind this?
Regards,
Nishant
Hi Nishant,
Which versions of each server? Are these being written to a raw partition?
Number of locks, objects, indexes, etc are sufficient
(sp_monitorconfig 'all')? etc.

Hi Jason L. Froebe / All,
My apologies to you all. There was a SELECT command going on on the
same table and was blocking the drop index command.
