I was a student with the American School of Isfahan for the years 1976 thru
1978. There were three facilities: the elementary on the main north-south
artery south of the Zand-e-rud, the middle school just north of town and west
of the extension to the same street, and the high school in the master planned
town of Shahin Shahr, ~20km north of town on the old Tehran highway.
The American School was closed after the return of the Ayat-Allah, so high
school reunions are not in the cards for me.
Instead, if anyone who has been or will be passing through Isfahan can tell me
anything about the current use of the school facilities, particularly the high
school, I'd be grateful for the knowledge. Given the grown in the population
of Iran over the last 15 years, here's to hoping they're still used as schools!
Also, if you can promise that they've melted down that ugly monument to Shah
Reza on the south side of town...
