RyoO sen final match: the first game will be in Paris!

Dear All,

The first round of the final match for the RyuO sen, between Watanabe
RyuO and his challenger Habu Eisei Meijin, will take place on the
18+19 October 2008 in Paris.

During the evening before (Friday 17.10.2008) an eve cocktail will
take place in the hotel "Meridien Etoile", Boulevard Gouvion St Cyr,
in the 17th area of Paris, France.
There, people who will join will have the chance to meet not only the
two famous players Watanabe and Habu, but also: Yonenaga Kunio
(president of the Japan Shogi Association), Sato Yasumitsu Kio (9
Dan), Sato Sinya (6 Dan), Nakamura Taichi (4 Dan) and Mrs Hayamizu
Chisa (2 Dan)!
Exact timeframe and additional details wil be provided soon but you
can already book your train/flight and hotel if you want to take this
opportunity to meet these players there!

Information from Japan Shogi Association (Shogi Promotion Department)

The first match of the RyuO sen, between Watanabe RyuO and his
challenger Habu Meijin, will take place on the 18+19 October 2008 in

During the evening before (19h-21h,Friday 17.10.2008) an eve cocktail

will take place in the hotel "Meridien Etoile", Boulevard Gouvion St

Cyr,in the 17th area of Paris, France.

There, people who will join will have the chance to meet not only

Watanabe and Habu, but also: Yonenaga Kunio (president of the Japan

Shogi Association), Sato Yasumitsu (Kio), Sato Sinya (6 Dan), Nakamura
Taichi (4 Dan) and Ms. Hayamizu Chisa (2 Dan).

And we prepare the related events in cooperation with the French Shogi
Federation and the Paris branch of the Japan Shogi Association.

Dear All,

Things are now fixed. There are some slight differences from what
Andrei wrote a few days ago.

But I think this event may be of interest also for non french speaking
players. So, you may find a full descriptive flyer in english to
download at the bottom of this web page.

If you plan to come, please let us know!
The main sponsor, Yiomiuri Shimbun, and also the Nihon shogi Renmei
would be happy to have a list of people joining the cocktail.

Moreover, regarding the tournament, we would like ot be sure that we
will have enough shogi sets and clocks. Therefore, a preregistration
before the 13.10.2008 is required (contact <at> shogi.fr).
