This post may seem a little off topic, but I would like to see how
everyone in this group feels about death. In this group, there are many
cardiac patients and those with other medical problems. Lately, I've
been trying to conquer the fear of death myself, and work towards
improving my cardiac health.

But there is always that voice in the back of my head "What if there
is only nothing when you die, darkness, void, ect". These thoughts
occur more when I'm having symptoms, but I wonder if anyone else
feels the same way.

I wasen't raised a religious person and have seldom been to church. I
have many questions about "what happens when one dies", but not
many answers. I've put many people through hardship since I've been
sick, both financially and emotionally. My father even tells me I've
destroyed our family... I don't think I can be forgiven for that.

Thanks,

Excerpted from an AP story about the trapped Virginia miners per the
on-line Washington Times:

Tom Toler identified the body of his youngest brother. And then he was
handed a message from the dead man. In wobbly printing, written in ink
on the back of an insurance application, 51-year-old miner Martin Toler
Jr. said goodbye. For now.

"(I'll) see them on the other side," the note said. "It wasn't bad. I
just went to sleep. I love you."

Wow. Very powerful words.

Do you know of any books I can read that will help be beat this fear of
death. I do have a copy of Today's New International Bible, but I'm not
sure how much they speak of death.

Before walking with Christ, I did.

During my walk with the LORD, He showed me that there would be no death
because those who drink the living water He offers become themselves
sources of this living water thereby conferring eternal life not only
to themselves but those around them.

The LORD is the source of that ultimate kind of forgiveness which
confers eternal life and this is freely available to you.

Saul obsessively persecuted and sought to destroy the early church
family of LORD Jesus Christ. Despite nearly succeeding the LORD
forgave him and even made him into the Apostle Paul whom He used to
draw gentiles onto Himself thereby fulfilling the prophesy that the
citizens of His everlasting Kingdom would number among many nations:

It's funny how you use the tragedy of others to be an asshole.

Only the LORD's opinion matters here in this universe which HE has
made. Sorry to have to be the one to inform you about this. Please
forgive my iniquities.

Meanwhile, you will be in my prayers, dear Jimmy whom I love, in Jesus'
name.

You're entitled to your wrong opinion.
