WEEKLY TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY #183 JANUARY 29 - FEBRUARY 5, 1995

North Atlantic Basin: No tropical cyclones.

Eastern North Pacific Basin (E of 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Central North Pacific Basin (180 Deg. W to 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Western North Pacific Basin (W of 180 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

North Indian Ocean Basin: No tropical cyclones.

South Indian Ocean Basin (W of 135 Deg. E):

Tropical Cyclone Dorina (TC-08S): At the start of the summary period,
Dorina was southeast of southern Madagascar moving south with 40-45 kt winds.
The storm continued this general motion until it became extratropical near
33S 59E on 31 January.

Tropical Cyclone 10S: Tropical Cyclone 10S formed near 12S 74E on 5 Febru-
ary. At the end of the summary period it was moving southwest with 40 kt
winds.

Tropical Cyclone 11S: Tropical Cyclone 11S formed near 17S 88E on 5 Febru-
ary. At the end of the summary period, it was moving west with 35 kt winds.

Author's Note: Special thanks to Julian Heming at the UK Met. Office for
passing along the following information on Tropical Cyclone Eliceca, the
missing 'E' storm from last week's summary.

Tropical Cyclone Eliceca: Tropical Cyclone Eliceca formed over the Mozam-
bique Channel near 20S 38E on 19 January. Drifting north, the system moved
over northern Mozambique on 20 January. The cyclone dissipated over land the
next day. Maximum sustained winds are believed to have been 35 kt. There are
no reports of damage or casualties at this time. The remains of Eliceca may
have turned south and become Tropical Cyclone Fodah (TC-09S) on 24 January.

South Pacific Ocean Basin (E of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.
