WEEKLY TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY #195 APRIL 23 - 30, 1995

North Atlantic Basin: No tropical cyclones.

Eastern North Pacific Basin (E of 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Central North Pacific Basin (180 Deg. W to 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Western North Pacific Basin (W of 180 Deg.):

Tropical Storm Chuck: Tropical Depression 2W formed near 5N 166E on 28
April. Initially moving north, the system turned west-northwest the next day
as it reached tropical storm intensity. Chuck drifted west on 30 April, and
at the end of the summary period it was at its peak intensity of 35 kt.

The NOAA research ship Discoverer reported 25 kt sustained winds as Chuck
was first developing. Although the storm formed in the Marshall Islands,
there are no other reports of significant weather, damage, or casualties at
this time.

North Indian Ocean Basin: No tropical cyclones.

South Indian Ocean Basin (W of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.

South Pacific Ocean Basin (E of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.
