WEEKLY TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY #21: DECEMBER 22 - 29, 1991

North Atlantic Basin: No tropical cyclones.

Eastern North Pacific Basin (E of 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Central North Pacific Basin (180 Deg. W to 140 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

Western North Pacific Basin (W of 180 Deg. W): No tropical cyclones.

North Indian Ocean Basin: No tropical cyclones.

South Indian Ocean Basin (W of 135 Deg. E):

Tropical Cyclone Alexandra (TC-09S): At the start of the summary period,
Alexandra was moving east-southeastward at its peak intensity of 105 kt.
The storm turned south on 23 December and west on 24 December as a rapid
weakening trend set in. The system decreased to tropical storm intensity
on 24 December, and it disspated the next day near 19S 73E. As mentioned
in summary #20, the intensity estimates mentioned here are those of the
Joint Typhoon Warning Center on Guam. The intensity estimates from the
meteorological services of Mauritius and Reunion are considerably lower.

South Pacific Ocean Basin (E of 135 Deg. E): No tropical cyclones.
