ec2-bundle-vol failed.

Any idea what causes this kind of error? One of the instances in the
farm synchronizes with no problem, 2 others do not. This is farm 583.

Try to  delete some content on the instance and sync again. It's likely too big for smooth rebundle.

rsync builds a list of files  that should be synced and then proceeds to transferring them one-by-one.. If any file gets deleted between those operations. (it was splunk in your case), it stucks.
Disable splunk before syncing.
