Dear all,

When I try to display some of the documentation notebooks, they turn
out partly or wholly blank in Firefox, especially the long ones (e.g.
5.1 2d plotting).

They work fine in Safari, so perhaps this is more a Firefox or Mac
issue than a SAGE problem, but perhaps someone experienced something
similar.

Some details:
I am running 'SAGE Version 3.0.2, Release Date: 2008-05-24' on a
MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Firefox 2.0.0.11.

Thanks a lot for your help already!

Cheers
Stan

It's funny but I'm getting the same results with the addition that if
I run the cursor on certain blank areas (e.g. the module index) the
status bar tells me there's a link right there, I click it and it
takes me where it's supposed to but there's no way I know in advance
where I'm heading to.

I hope this also helps with the description, thanks.

I found invisible links, too, but I didn't actually click on them.

Yesterday, I managed to make my own notebook invisible in Firefox when
I added one more line of code. Upon deletion of a whole bunch of lines
in the text version of the notebook, it worked again in Firefox. What
is your operating system?

Sorry for the wait, Stan. I should have added this info before:

SAGE Version 3.0.1, Release Date: 2008-05-05
Windows Vista
AMD Turion 64 X2

And, by the way, I apologize for blaming it on the module index, it
actually happens on the master index
right after this line:

ellchangepoint() (in module sage.libs.pari.gen)

Unfortunately, I am not familiar enough with SAGE or Firefox to fix
the problem, but perhaps we can file a bug and hope that someone will
know what to do. Could you just try one more thing? Does it work in
Internet Explorer? I can't try it out on my Mac, but I find it
interesting that the problem does not occur if I use the Mac browser
Safari.

Hi Louie,

Sorry for the delay. I was away and out of email. Since we could not
resolve the problem here, I posted a new topic to the sage developers
mailing list with a reference to the discussion we had here. Hope
someone will be able to pick up on it and fix it. These guys seem very
busy, though, so I am not sure where on the priority lists this will
end up. :)

Cheers
Stan

I just upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and the problem does not seem to appear
any more. Hopefully.
