Are you actually saying you're offering an illegal download of Dave's book?!

I wish I could have checked that you did, but your site, which you keep
imposing pimping of every freakin' day on this list, is so unresponsive
I had to let go.

If you *are* offering such a download, I doubt publicly announcing it
here shows any respect towards the author, which is also a reader and
contributor here.

Yet again, your daily posts are all but respectful anyway.

Hello,
Unfortunately it is. I e-mailed rapidshare and asked them to delete the
file. The domain is hosted in Iran, so I fear that there will be small means
to enforce him keeping the files down.
But he does not host illegal copies of books. You can also download shrek 3
there (which similar as the book, I prefer to own as hardcopy once it is
available).

Who is admin of this group that we can get rid of this scum?

This asshole is sure to keep posting, but maybe we can take away the
incentive...

Go to the site.
Click on 'Ads by Google'
Click the bottom link: 'Send Google your thoughts on the site or the
ads you just saw'
Click the 'Also Report a Violation?' link
Check off 'The Website'
Choose 'Violates AdSense policies'

The best answer to most questions is "it depends".

Done. Hopefully enough complaints will put google on the lookout for
this spammer scammer.

You can also report a post on Google Groups but it seems to have very
little effect. I chatted with Thomas a few days about getting this
guy banned. Let's see what we can come up with.

Frankly, the legality of your website is secondary; your history of
nuisance posts in this group is what angers us. You frequently post
links with little or no explanation that seem to have nothing to do with
Scriptaculous. Your posts look like computer-generated spam.

We kindly ask you to post messages of technical discussion related to
Scriptaculous and or Prototype.

Ken Snyder

x-men,

Maybe there's a slightly grey area as to whether your actions were illegal,
but your defence of 'helping other programmers' doesn't hold much water, I'm
afraid. I don't suppose that you mean it for a moment, given your history of
osting to this group, but if you do want to help, scan the group, join the
discussions and answer some of the questions for help, like the rest of us do
(with a special tip of the hat here to Christophe, undisputed king of
question-answerers on this list :-) ). Now, please don't do it again.

Thanks to Christophe, Ken, Bill, Fabian & Alex for replying in my absence over
the weekend.

Cheers,

Dave

just out of curiosity cause I don't have apache-utils installed, what
happens when a few people do this:

$ ab -n 100000 -kc 200 http://tf.takdesigner.com/index.php?action=help

;-p
