Beginning today, whenever I run repo, this is all I get:

$ repo sync
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
error: Cannot fetch repo

$ repo init -u git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git
Getting repo ...
from git://android.git.kernel.org/tools/repo.git
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

It worked fine yesterday. Any ideas?

kernel.org seems to be rejecting connections every so often.  I'm starting to suspect its a load problem on the servers, even though they say it isn't.  My guess is the server runs out of memory and randomly kills a connection.  :-|

It smelled to me like "server's down". Maybe all the people trying to
get cupcake?

I guess I will keep trying...

Thanks

FWIW, I was able to work around this by hacking my /etc/hosts to point
android.git.kernel.org to the IP address of android2.git.kernel.org.

I am having the same problem you had. Is the "android2" hack still
working for you? And just to be sure I understand what you did, I
assume what you meant was adding to /etc/hosts a line such as

204.152.191.45 android.git.kernel.org

Correct?

Thanks.
