Dumplin', I am all brown thumbs. But I love these
conspiracy theories. :)
Astounding information. This explains a lot.
MaryL
I say to all the rpch+b posters who aren't associated with
Celeste/Nancy/Mary/LoonyTune that we all make a conscious decision to freeze
her and her buddies out. If we all refuse to respond, then we really can't
expect her to stay on, as she has more pressing things to do, like find and
attempt to kill another newsgroup. I like how r.p.c.a. does it, changing the
topic and ensuring that anything LoonyTunes says instantly turns to a
discussion of favorite trash TV shows or recipes or even what you're wearing
at the moment. Anything to shut her out (and up).
If you have a kill file, put her in it. If you're using OE, block her and
her cohorts as 'block sender'. Once we do this, she loses her audience and
will hopefully pull up stakes and move on.
But before we all do this, there's one more important thing to do. You know
what it is... and the information is left intact below. I'm sure the state
of NC would be so impressed to receive many many letters detailing
LoonyTunes behavior.
Thank you so much, Karma, for posting all this. Very enlightening and very
very sad. What a pathetic person LT must be, and her followers, well they're
even sadder.

Mary, is this real? Did you really pose as someone on the suicide help
group wanting to commit suicide in Norway and ask for someone else to go
out with you? Did you post on alt.troll a few years ago that you were
just learning how to troll? I'm asking you up-front because I know how
you feel about honesty.
None of us are angels, but this is so disturbing.

Rhonda, like the poster said, you decide for yourself.
You've read my posts now for a while. Am I here to disrupt
the group? And believe me, I am no gardener. When would I
have time?
What I love is that Cheryl put all this time into building a case
for this. She has been swearing that I am "someone else"
"playing" the group for the year or so that I have been posting.
And do I seem suicidal to you?
There is a long history of people calling those they do not
like "trolls." You've seen it. You have a good head on your
shoulders, and I have no doubt you will use it. :)
I just thought of something that ought to ease your mind, if you are buying
any of this.
Do you remember Greg, the San Diego guy who I talked with for over an hour
on the
telephone about adopting Conan? Well, he asked if we could talk via
telephone and I sent
him my number.
When he called, my husband answered the telephone. You can always email Greg
and ask
him who he asked for when he called me. :)
Rhonda, with the good head on your shoulders... think and re-read Karma's
LOOOOONG email. Tooooooo many co-inkydinks. Tooo many ISPs that ring
BINGO. Nancy is back pedaling up the shit creek w/OUT a paddle now!!
Oh, I wouldn't believe a puff of smoke from your ass, Mary. Do ya normally
hang out in the cooking news group and post to alt.k00ks in the same post?
No. But you did for a reason. It was to stir up shit for a cat group. And
your silly self thinks that Rhonda or any other smart person won't see
through your (ahem) "bad Karma".
Face it, Nancy... you're fucked!!!

Yeah. And I read it on the internet, so it *must* be true.
Karma must have a lot of time on her hands (I'm sure it is a she...way
to petty to be a male) to have all that crap documented. Lots of people
do stupid shit on the internet. You'll never stop them. Who cares
anyway. Just be smart out there and take everything with a grain of salt.

I will, Mary. Like I said, no one here is an angel but this is too much.
I need to know that the people I deal with are basically good human
beings. Trying to get someone else to commit suicide is not a game.
If these allegations are not true, you'd better sue for libel because
this is a big one.
Rhonda
I do believe you love cats and genuinely wanted to do good for Conan.
Rhonda
None of that is true, Rhonda. But I think you know that. Your instincts
are better than that.
>

Of course I do, and sure I did. ;)
It's Cheryl! Or maybe Megan or a joint effort. Bet they're all Googled
out now.
At this point I am wondering if anything is honest. That information
sounds biographical if not autobiographical. MLB

Rhonda, read the data. It is there in black and white. How many
people do you know who have two cats named Buddah and Gnarly? Her
email address was ROSEFAN when she first came here. She has posted in
the rose group using that name. This is HUGE, and if there was any
doubt about this psycho's true nature, it is now absolutely gone.
There is link after link after link to her. You'd have to be blind not
to see it.
And what is she going to do? Admit to it? Of course not. That's how
trolls work.
She deserves nothing but a killfile, because quite simply, she's
dangerous. Protect yourself.
-L.
Just curious, but didn't you used to post under "rosefan" on this group?
Look, I have no problem with someone posting under a fake name. But this
does all seem very bizarre.

HORK!
I suspect the worst may be true. But who cares? Mary didn't
orchestrate Dan and Monica's sleazy performance. She picked up on it
and ran with it. That is why I couldn't believe, at first, that Dan
was lying. It just seemed crazy that he would set up someone like
Mary -- or me, for that matter. I didn't know anything about Mary's
history at that point, but I could see she was a dedicated Usenet
fiend.
Do a google groups search for "despair my ass" in the subject header
in seattle.general. I posted it after the infamous day when Seattle
was tied up from one end to the other by a woman on a bridge who
ultimately jumped and survived. It actually split into several
threads, I think, but that was the first one.
I sure got the hate mail over that one. A number of people wrote and
I got ISP complaints too, which doesn't usually happen in the seattle
hierarchy. One guy wrote this long, tormented email, wondering how he
could prepare his children to live in a world populated by people as
cold-hearted as me. He was less angry than demoralized by the
villianous tone of my comments. Ultimately I apologized publicly
because I felt so bad about how I made people feel.
Another one -- look for "promise keepers" as a string inside the text
in rec.pets.dogs.behavior. On the day before Christmas the guy wrote
me this email in which he explicitly threatened to find out where I
live and hunt me down and kill me. I wrote back, "I'm sorry you got
so mad, but you're using your real name. What would happen if I
pretended to take you seriously?" He wrote back, "I'm so sorry, I'm
just having a real rough time of it these days..."
It was because of those kinds of experiences that I gradually calmed
down. I love a flame war, but I don't want to really ruin someone's
day, usually. That's why most of the really outrageous stuff I posted
is a few years old.
But along come Dan Mahoney and Monica Towle, and I just happen to get
mixed up in it, and Mary just happens to get mixed up in it too. Once
that happens, what else can we do?
Charlie
Philip started the whole thing. If he just had not sent those glowing
posts about this great big red cat, then told us he had returned him.
Tell me this: do you really think we may rest assured that Conan/Dylan
is in a good home?

I think that post written to elicit sobs of outrage from sanctimonious
and decidedly non-suicidal readers. As an incitement to a suicide
pact, it offers little to grab hold of, with no mention of motive or
philosophy but rather a practical discussion of logistics. What truly
suicidal person is going to follow that train of thought?
You have to face facts, Rhonda. Post a message to Mary, and she will
respond immediately. I'm almost as bad. What does that say about us?
That we want everyone to get along, so we have nothing interesting to
read or post about ourselves???
Personally, I'm gonna troll the shit out of anecdotes with animal web
pages this summer. Every one will have a midi file chosen for its
emotional impact. Dan ain't gonna slither away on a line of bullshit
about threatening phone calls. As far as I am concerned, he has
greatly compounded his issue with me by throwing out the inference
that one of us might have made this supposed phone call. Threats or
harrassment are not my style. Unlike some of these toddlers, I know
how to keep the sand inside the sand box, and I do.

Libel has to damage a reputation. On Usenet, this thread amounts to a
big character endorsement.

All I can say is I find it fascinating. Wish I didn't have to go to
bed now; it's better than any mystery novel. I'm sure I'm naive in the
ways of usenet since rpchb is really the only place I've posted for my
whole usenet experience but this is an exciting turn of events.
*Most* interesting.
And I can see why one with this particular career might say they love
their job; not your run-of-the-mill profession.
Reluctantly heading to bed and looking forward to what tomorrow in
rpchb might bring, I'll be dreaming of genealogical discoveries
unfolding in fragrance-laden, verdant gardens.
Candace
The thing is Mary said she didn't post under other names or to other
groups .
Mary , Tracey etc tried to mislead RPCH&B by inferring that they were
still looking
for a new owner for Conan while arranging for Dan to take him from
the rescue and rehome him with you , Greg (sounds a nice guy ) or
Meghans sister. I think thats sleazy though AFAIR , you didn't think
it was necessary for Mary send this post so good on ya.

Beautifully put, Candace. ;) Did you know that genealogists must spend
many hours in courthouses, archives and libraries, poring over old records?
These places are only open during regular business hours. Anyone so engaged
must be up early in the morning and in bed early in the evening. That leaves
little time to play on the Internet in the wee hours.
Dig deeper. :) That is always where the good stuff is.

True, I'm sure. But also true that work of this sort could be done in
spurts and that the compiling of the data into cohesive reports could
be done any time, day or night...I would surmise, anyway.
I have a friend who has consistently slept only 3-4 hours per night.
I've always envied all the extra time she has sucked out of life.
She's one of those hyper sorts. She actually has hyperthyroidism
(which is treated) but I don't know if that's a factor or if she just
has a very high metabolism.
Like I said, it's a fascinating story. I'm glad I don't have to go
into work until later today so I can do a little reading.
Candace
There are lots of things that people don't take lightly and are
referred
to on NGs. I said Hitler like dogs which is true and Mary said Sieg
Heil baby.
Your response to Mary is where exactly ?
This thread is about Mary and her deception and your diversion tactic
is not going
to stop responses about her.
Alison
Also, a lot of stuff that used to have to be done at the actual library,
courthouse, etc can now be done online. I traced my father's family back to
the 1770's when the family first came to the US entirely on the Internet. I
also went to the UVA archives online and they pretty much scan everything
and have it available for anyone to search. I found Civil War letters
written by an ancestor, all from my home.
Then again, I never hung out on the genealogy newsgroup, so what the heck do
I know?

Oh Bullshit with a capital B, Nancy. Is this the lie you feed your
clients in order to bilk them out of more money? "Work" for
geneaologists is scarce, at best. How many people - or businesses for
that matter - do you know who hire a genealogist? NONE. Tracing
family histories isn't neuroscience - a LOT of people do it. And a
*ton* of it can be had online - there are tons of sites dedicated to it
and many people have *already done your work for you*. And you
yourself said you travel for business BY CAR - right up to Richmond to
check the VA records, right? Keep blowing the bullshit. You are just
digging yourself deeper.

You obviously haven't been paying attention. Read the OP. Search a

It's circumstantial, but it sure fits.
I know nothing about Mary's life from her posts. The one thing I have
figured out is that she spends a lot of time scanning and working the
discussion. That is why I had trouble believing Dan would be so dumb
as to hand her a grudge. This is one lady who will pick up the
gauntlet in a big way.
But, she did pony up some cash for Conan's rescue (which was
returned). She can be devious, but she can also be matter-of-fact.
I'd say she's a sincere player, even if she has spent years on Usenet
in various incarnations.

I have a question for you, Nancy, since you're a professional
researcher. It's a 3 part questionaire:
a) Do you find yourself using intimidation and accusations in your
everyday fact-finding of research projects? and
b) Does that method often work out for you on a professional level?
and if not,
c) Do you resort to speculation -presented as fact- in the final
product to your paying customer?
After reading some of those posted links, I did some lookups of my
own. You know, that's what I do. Seriously, I find people like you
fascinating, though sickening. And the fact that you expose this
awful side of yourself to the public in the form of Usenet, and God
knows where else, is an added bonus for those of us who are
compelled to study your version of human nature. When did it start
Nancy? When you got married? It seems that way. I pegged you as a
troll from the beginning when you did INDEED post as
ros...@email.com both here and in the genealogy group. The funny
thing there and why I continued to watch you is that you carried on
threads with both your Mary personna and the Gengenie one. It was
bizarre to read. But, fascinating. lol
As for your comment about me asking you who you "used to be", well
now you know why I wondered. You made it clear that you'd been
posting in this group for years, yet there was never someone with
your venom that I remember since 2002 or so. Oh, I'd know "you"
anywhere. LOL You're too opinionated to lurk, so *if* you posted
here, I do believe I'd recognize your posting style. But Karma
posted a link that you trolled cat groups in the past, so maybe I
overlooked you. Maybe it was before my time. Whatever. I'm glad to
see you outed. You deserve it.

Just as you have indicated, a tremendous of information is also available
online in the U.S., and most of it is free. I once wanted to look up some
information on my great-great-great/many times over uncle, who won the
Congressional medal of honor in the Civil War. I typed in his name, and the
information popped up in about 10 seconds. My cousin has done a great deal
of genuine genealogical work, and she does much of it online. On the other
hand, she has also had to travel to libraries, archives, city halls, etc. to
obtain data that she could not obtain through the computer.

The thing that convinced me was seeing the names of her cats. I
think I even asked "Mary" when she first arrived, and she told us
she'd been posting for years here, why it was that I'd never seen
someone talk about their cats named Gnarly, Buddha and Cheeky? No
one can post here and not name their cats. No one. Sorry. It just
doesn't happen.
Satan is sincere. Napoleon was sincere. Katherine the Great was sincere. I
sincerely need to move my bowels twice a day. What's your point?

Of course. To all of your theories. Now I know why she made the
link, too. Though, I still think she just googled me for most of
it. It doesn't matter because no matter how much she tried to spin
it, I never trolled.

You're another interesting personality. Posting as both "boring" and
"interesting" LOL Intriguing.
oh, don't forget alt.infertility.parenting, where she tracked me, Lyn and
Kelly and said some incredibly insensitive and horribly insulting things to
me, including accusing me of wanting to "have a litter". She's a real piece
of work.
Interesting how she and her buddy Trish seem to have evaporated into thin
air. Wonder what their next plan of attack will be?

None. I do not get the mentality of an adult troll. I thought trolling
was pretty limited to teenage boys out on summer break. Kids with
pimples not knowing what to do with all of that new testosterone,
picking on newsgroups to feel like they have a tiny bit of power in
their lives. Who knew that it is fun for all ages?

Charlie, I don't understand trolling, but at least you are an honest
troll. You admit it. You mostly try to shock people, from what I can see.

Tell me if there is a fun part in that. Do you feel that whole group
needs to be punished?

This whole thing just makes me sad.

Rhonda
I am disappointed with the rest of the stuff, I honestly think you'd be
screaming to high heaven if it were all lies.
If you are Nancy Carter Moore, and the one that I saw in the high school
yearbook on-line (Pacifica?), it's just hard for me to look at your
smiling face and think of some of the things that are written.
I know you get a kick out of the flare-ups with some people, but I never
in a million years would have guessed some of the things that I've read
from your posts. Other than cat-topics, I'm not sure when you are
telling the truth any more.
Rhonda
Heh. That figures. Nothing like righteous indignation about the mere
mention of Hitler, from somebody who calls Monica the "Cat Nazi." Poor
widdle Kitkat, soooo sensitive.

I usually am trying to make a point. The bridge-jumper posts, which
were the worst I ever wrote I think, were all about raising a question
that was completely absent from the media buzz -- i.e., how much
chaos is warranted to prevent one adult from doing what she wants to
do with her own life?
It's easy enough to troll into a group and piss off everyone by taking
a position that is sure to infuriate, like coming in here as a cat
hater. What takes more skill is to develop a position that has some
legitimacy, and expose consensus thinking to critical analysis.
Think about RPCA. People over there were mesmerized by Dan. That was
the consensus. Mary exposed it to critical analysis. I don't think
that's a bad thing. Dan is no villian, but he's not a trustworthy
character, either. He's a manipulator who tells people what he thinks
they want to hear, so they will like him. People might as well know
that if they are making arrangements with him in real life.

What's not the fun part in animal web pages with cornball music???

I'm sorry you're so let down, Rhonda. But this is about a stray cat.
It's not about cheating people out of their money, or exploiting
lonely hearts, or anything like that.
Mary's game would not have worked so well had not Dan and Monica been
such utter buffoons. What if Dan had stuck with the plan we
discussed? Mary indeed had someone lined up to adopt Conan. She put
up the money. She had no way of knowing how it would play out.
I did not know the story on Mary, but I suspected a hanging tale of
this very sort. She posts from an unusual server, doesn't say much
about herself, responds to every message right away and is an
incessant flamer. So, I'm not surprised that someone comes along and
announces that Mary has been posting in groups for years under
different names, always stirring the shit. Why should anyone be
surprised?
As for destroying groups, one person can't do that without a lot of
accomplices.
And as for trolls, what about Philip? Did he just pop into Usenet
existence for the first time a few months ago, when he started looking
for a cat? Maybe so.
Charlie
Charlie...imo you are so spot on. Very interesting to read your POV.
OK, even I can get behind making corny, schlocky, sappy animal pages. Make
sure you use a MIDI of "Wind Beneath My Wings". Use as many animated GIF's
as possbile and join 5,000 webrings (do those even exist any more?).
