How would you like to hear from a packet of Equal? According to
Whitburn's 1996 Pop book, she was born Jeanette Washington, and "Nobody
Cares (about me)" was indeed released under that name. Her 1964 #93 hit
"I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby" was released under the name Justine
Washington.

RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #132 (GOLQ132)

Congratulations to Really Rockin' in Boston for hanging in there to record
simply an amazing score of 440 points on this most difficult quiz. Jamie
Lubin's fine squad also had a very respectable score of 380. Also, Michael
Gessner/Dan Dinardo, The Gypsy's Caravan and Rick Schubert's team (The
Coasters) get high marks for giving it that old college try. Thanx to all
who entered and maintained the spirit of competition of GOOD OLD GOLQ-U.
In addition, thanx to Barry S for all he put up with in trying to work with
me on the quiz.

There was no imagined theme in this quiz.

Hope you all had fun. Thanks to everyone who participated!

According to Phil Groia's "They All Sang On The Corner," Justine was her
first name. Also according to him, it was Louise Harris Murray who said
"Please come home, you great big lump of sugar." Baby Washington was not a
member of the Hearts on "Lonely Nights" but a member of a later version of
the group. But thanks for the reference; it's my all-time favorite
recitation and made me smile just thinking of it again.

According to "The Virgin Encyclopaedia Of R&B And Soul", Baby
Washington was born Justine Washington 13 November 1940 in
Bamberg,South Carolina.A.k.a. Jeannette Washington moved to NYC at an
early age and was raised in Harlem, singing with The Hearts group in
1956.She went solo the following year recording for J&S and later
moving to Donald Shaw's Neptune label in 1959 then Juggy Murray's Sue
label in the early 60's.Her biggest hit came in 1963 with the
marvellous "Thats's How Heartaches Are Made".

I was going to add "and her her best" to that last comment but seeing
how things are going I expect we'd have to take a vote on it :)

FWIW, Whitburn's 1995 R&B book agrees with Roger. Something made
Whitburn change it in the Pop book one year later, and we I submit that
that something was the truth. Well, either that or the Pop book has a
typo. What does the RAB HoF have to say about this?
