These are excerpts of the very lengthy automated reply I just received
from Dizum.com, the owner of the automated remailer and news service our
pornographer is using:

The relevant information (for us) is about the Mail2News gateway operated
by Dizum.com (a Dutch firm, it appears) - specifically the answer to
Question #8 in their FAQ about the Mail2News gateway. Also most relevant
is item "J" at the end of the abridged autoreply message - i.e., how to
contact a HUMAN at Dizum.com to deal with abuse cases (the contact address
is ab...@zedz.net).

I am not terribly hopeful that Dizum.com will do anything about "A.
Melon", but I suggest we all follow the recommended procedures to notify a
human being. Maybe if enough of us ask to have A. Melon's news posting
capabilities suspended, Dizum.com will give in.

Dizum Than AutoReply version 1.06

-[a]- AUTOREPLY:
---------------------------

Thank you for contacting <ab...@dizum.com>. This is an automated
reply to your message. In this document you will find information
on how to contact a human. Please read through this document, it
will answer most of your questions about the Dizum Usenet Posting
Policy and it will explain how you can BLOCK your email address
from receiving anonymous mail sent by the Dizum anonymous remailer.

-[b]- SERVICES:
----------------------------

Dizum Than operates both a mail2news gateway and an anonymous
remailer. For more information on both please point your browser
to https://ssl.dizum.com.

-[c]- ANONYMOUS REMAILER:
-----------------------------

The Dizum system is a remailer which automatically anonymizes and
forwards e-mail. As such it serves an important purpose for many of
its users who could not otherwise express themselves freely, or who
need to discuss sensitive personal topics.

Of course, it is not intended to annoy or harass. In case you have
received an unwanted message, the remailer offers a method to prevent
this from happening again.

To block the remailer from sending mail to your address, please send
a message containing the line

DESTINATION-BLOCK

to <rema...@dizum.com>.

<SNIP>

-[e]- HOW-TO BLOCK YOUR ADDRESS
----------------------------------

If you wish to block other addresses you can do so by including one
line of the type "destination-block user@domain" for each address.

As a postmaster, you can block anonymous mail to your entire domain.
To do so, please use the line "destination-block @your-domain.com".

If you do not want to read anonymous messages in mailing lists or
newsgroups, please consult the manual of your mail reading program.
The software will allow you to use `filters' or `kill files' to
avoid being bothered by messages you do not want to read.

<SNIP>

-[g]- MAIL2NEWS GATEWAY:
----------------------------------

This service allows you to post news articles to usenet through E-mail.
It can be useful if you do not have access to a good news server, or if
you wish to post through an anonymous remailer. Note that this service
does NOT anonymize the news articles it posts. The address from which
an article is mailed will become the return address of the posted news
article.

-[h]- MAIL2NEWS POLICY:
-----------------------------------

The mail2news gateway is available so people who use anonymous remailers
or do not have posting priveledges at regular news servers or have their
posting priveledges revoked due to controversial opinions or flame wars
can participate in usenet discussions. The mail2news gateway is not
intended as a vehikel to post spam, advertising, binaries, pictures,
warez etc.

Please read our policy concerning Usenet postings, and than decided if
it is useful to re-sent your message to abuse.

-[i]- The Dizum Usenet F.A.Q. v1.03 (03-August-2000)
-----------------------------------

The Dizum Usenet F.A.Q. v1.03 (03-August-2000)

[01]
Q: Do you censor?

A: No.

<SNIP>

[06]
Q: What is your policy on child pornography?

A: We rely on users to follow the law which applies to Dizum and/or
the user. We rely on readers to report presumed child pornography to
the appropriate law enforcement agency so they may then contact us and
follow-up as they feel appropriate. We do not review messages that have
passed through the server because that action in or of itself can be
illegal. Further, we are not in a position to know what is child
pornography and what is not.

<SNIP>

[08]
Q: What is your policy on message floods?

A: If a message flood is resulting in a denial of service, we will
stop it. If a user on Dizum is causing it, we may disable their
posting ability. A denial of service is when news servers are unable
to perform their intended function because of the overload caused by
a message flood or other harmful activity. Readers inconvenienced by
numerous off-topic or inappropriate postings does not constitute a
flood or denial of service.

[09]
Q: What is your policy on non-advertising excessive multi-postings
(EMP)?

A: We consider excessive multi-postings to be a flood and we react to
it as described above.

<SNIP>

[11]
Q: What is your policy on off-topic postings?

A: We do not have a policy against off-topic postings and we rely on
users to operate in a way that they feel is appropriate for Usenet
and/or the groups they are participating in.

[12]
Q: What is your policy on a user posting with a bogus return address?

A: We feel users have a right to decide whether to be anonymous or not
and so we do not have a problem with a user posting with a bogus
return address. The news server software does require that a return
address be in Internet standard format, such as foo@bar, but the
address does not have to be real. We do require that users verify that
the address they choose to use is not actually someone else's valid
address or domain. For example, b...@foo.com is actually a valid email
address, because foo.com is a registered domain.

<SNIP>

[18]
Q: Why do you allow users so much freedom?

A: We believe that the more responsibilities we take away from a user,
the more irresponsible they will act. By attempting to maximize
freedom, we believe our users will act responsibly and not abuse that
freedom. We run these services since 1994 and this has proven to be the
case.

-[j]- CONTACTING A HUMAN:
-------------------------

The autoreplybot is activated for all messages sent to the
ab...@dizum.com email address, if the answers above do not solve
your problems of if you need to bring something to the attention of
the mail2news and/or the remailer operator please use the address
ab...@zedz.net. For your convenience we have already set the correct
returnaddress so you can just reply to this message.

ab...@zedz.net is read periodicly and we will try to answer your questions.

Thank you for using Dizum Than !

I sent my Congressman a note about this today.

I'm not usually one for government solutions but I think that
several years in the slammer for disrupting public communications
might help our friend, and anyone who aids or abets such
activity, repent.

I've not yet SEEN any posts by "A. Melon", but my unread messages are
flooded with dozens and dozens and dozens of repeats of previously
posted comments from Elizabeth Hubbell (some of them dating back to
March, 2003). Who's responsible for those? (I'm sure it's not Ms.
Hubbell.)

This onslaught is part of a vast right-wing conspiracy.

Can't be. The right-wing is half-vast.
