I received an email from the Velvet Acid Christ mailing list saying
that they will be touring with Haujobb.

I hope Haujobb remembers to get a work permit this time ;)

I wonder if this means that a new haujobb album is in the pipes. I
really like the track samples at planetmyer.de . Nice mix of
Solutions-type programming with some more accesible housy beats.

Hmm. The samples at the web site for the new Haujobb material was laughably
bad imo. The wussy dance beasts were very "new kids on the block." The new
Haujobb CD will no doubt be geared towards 14 year old ravers. Too bad.

There was no creativity in the types of sounds used. Myer does great stuff
with those beats, but he seems to be on the Evils Toys "wussy synth pop"
bandwagon. He needs to take a lesson from artists like Peter Andersson of
Raison Detre/Stratvm Terror, or Robert Rich, Scott Sturges of Pain Station,
or even Daniel Meyers friend from Forma Tadre, or Jeff Grienke etc on how
to create usefull textures. That would be the added spark that could make
Haujobb loved by many more people. Im not saying he should go ambient or
anything.....but the "stock" synth sounds and percussion he is using is
pathetic. :(

Rafi...is that they guy actually WEARING his own band T-Shirt in the

Ya ill second that. Far too many decent electro acts are progressing down
the "shake your booty" path. Im not saying that the new Haujobb CD will be
a Fucker Vogt clone or anything, but it wont be that far off.

Whats the fascination with ravey-clubby electro anyway? I know for sure
that its easier to produce then harder electro that has textures that are
morphed creativly. But the list of bands that are watering down their sound
is shocking to say the least.

Evils Toy
Gridlock ie the Dryft and new project - pretty good stuff though.
Numb (Halo Gen - is well done though)
In Strict Confidence
Imminant Starvation (spelled wrong i know, but Nord is noticably wussier
then Human Dislocation)
Delerium (Sarah and Kristy Thirsk do help sell albums though....cant blame
Leebo for that)
Mentallo & The Fixer (the last few CD are produced so horribly that most
people laugh when hearing them)
Wumpscut (lose the childish porn samples RUDY! that doest make your music
cool or evil)
VAC
Haujobb
Decoded Feedback

etc etc.

How come bands dont morph into something harder and edgier?
Blah.

Oh well.

Can anyone confirm the rumor that VAC is touring with haujobb and Din_Fiv?

I haven't seen any posts about it on RMI.

You know, I try not to be overly confrontational in usenet posts, it distracts from
real discussion, but it's these kinds of posts that fry my bacon. The points you raise
later are valid, but why do you cheapen any possible discussion with a retarded
statement like that last sentence?

I personally feel that Solutions and Ninety Nine have very sparse open textures to
them. Solutions is much denser of course, but I enjoy them both for the clean almost
antiseptic quality they possess. I don't see any kind of comparison to "Evil's Toys
wussy synth pop", unless your definition of synth pop is anything that isn't straight
ambient or have screaming feeback in it.

I personally don't have a problem with club friendly music, but some people seem to
instantly dismiss anything that isn't blatantly inaccesible. IMO it's indicative of
some of this scene's built in elitism... "If anyone can enjoy it and dance to it, it
must be bad."

> Gridlock ie the Dryft and new project - pretty good stuff though.

Pretty good indeed. The Dryft record and the Trace stuff are complex and beautiful.
Edit 397 from XXXd Generation is wonderful, and great mix of atmospherics and rhythm.
I wouldn't trade that for all the distortion of The Synthetic Form.

> Numb (Halo Gen - is well done though)

Language of Silence isn't as good as Blood Meridian, but one can't expect them not to
change between records. I kind of like the quieter moments on Language, especially
"Illumination Rounds" which segues nicely into some harsh stuff.

> Imminant Starvation (spelled wrong i know, but Nord is noticably wussier
> then Human Dislocation)

Only if by wussier you mean better structured with less mindless filler. I think human
dislocation is uneven, whereas Nord is a joy to listen to throughout, but then I'm
more into the mix of harshness with atmosphere than the straight up Power Noise sound
anyway.

> Wumpscut (lose the childish porn samples RUDY! that doest make your music
> cool or evil)

I don't think he's gotten wussier, so much as he's just gotten kind of boring.

> Decoded Feedback

Better now with less distortion. Seem to be finding there own sound now that they've
dropped some of the immitation factor present on Bio-Vital.

I know that they are supposed to both be comming to the Phanticy night
club either the weeknd before Halloween or the Wed. before...That was
the date they tried to get with Covenent before he dropped the gig....It
said on the page that the album was delayed but the tour should stay on
the same dates....thats all I know about that :)

And correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't blood meridian actually written
after language of silence, but realeased before it?

Which means, of course, that numb actually got "harder" with age, not the
other way around. unless you're referring to halo_gen, of course.

its posted on VAC's website as the latest "news" update (9/12/2000).
http://www.edtrecords.com/vac/blueprint.htm
the site says, "WEll, the tour is set. looks like the same dates, with
haujobb and dim/fiv/informatik."

im still curious as to whether its just going to be Din by himself as
Din_Fiv, or if it will be Informatik. *shrug* im sure good ol'
metropolis will keep up informed...

Human Dislocation was just progressive distortion. THe loops were
extremely simple. Even Stars was the only really stand out track on
there. Nord was MUCH better.

Although I'll grant that nord is a better all-round album for consistency
and such, I'll have to question your assertion that even stars was the only
great track on the first one. What about Lost Highway 45, at the very
least? That track is seminal.
