Thanks Anand. I love the song. I have seen the picturization of this song umpteen
times. But I have never seen the movie itself. Can somebody briefly tell me the
story line? Why does this brother sing this song? What leads to this song?

This is one of the movies I watched in Canada. Should have been
old. This song is sung by a drunkard brother. His sister is the bread
winner in the household. He addresses his sister (NYaanap peNNE). The brother is irresponsible and jobless. His sister scolds him an=
d he gets out of the house and sings "theyvam thantha veedu veethi irukku". I just do not know how the rest of the song fits there. =
Kannathasan might have had a couple of bottles and it would have been very natural for him.

Aval Oru Thodarkadhai was released in 1974. Was one of the best tamil
movies ever made, IMO.
