I never heard of this until today when I came across this page on KLOV:
http://www.macmame.net/klov/defnder3.html

Looks like a nightmare to play...and I thought Stargate was bad.

That has to be a joke, right? The description and such are pretty humorous.

<<Don't play any other arcade games located in the vicinity of Defender
3, since it will actually kill your men on those games, too.>>

You might want to read the bottom....

"If you haven't figured out this is an April Fool's Parody by now, you
should probably stop pestering the MAME developers about why this game
hasn't been emulated yet. This parody is copyright © 2003 Nathan Strum, who
also happens to run MacMAME.net. Thanks to Dave Dries of Cinemarcade for
hosting this silliness. Also thanks to Chris Newton who took this old
Defender cabinet off my hands, and is restoring it beautifully. Someone had
converted into a 10-yard fight. What was up with that?"

I've got two boardsets for this game if anyone is interested.

One of the sockets on the ROM board has a ribbon connector that leads to
a 2nd ROM board.

The CPU board has all of the RAM piggybacked with some other chips
and there is a lot of wirewrap connecting them together.

I've got another CPU board with the same markings but someone has
marked 'DO NOT USE' on each edge.

Let me know what you think.

heh?

Imagine the score potential on those screens... one smart bomb and you'll
earn enough for another smart bomb...
